Yes your kitty was female. There was nothing wrong with the placement of the sutures. When we neuter a tomcat, we don't bother to suture the wound; it simply isn't necessary. Girl kitties are another story because it's major abdominal surgery. Not so for the boys...

Sounds like a boy! Normally a neuter does not require stitches except some vets prefer to suture neuters when the patient is very young.
At 8 weeks old the testicles haven't dropped yet, therefore the surgery is a little more invasion and requires stitches.
Once the testicles have dropped it's simply an incision into the scrotum to remove the testicles.
It's great that you chose to have your pet sterilized, whether it's a male or female!

For a female, the small incision is on the tummy and not under the tail. It's probably a male. Call the Vet and ask.

it truly is lack of recognize-how and by no ability worrying. people imagine kittens are lovable so they enable Tabby have a clutter by no ability wondering about the thousands of lovable kittens who will die because they don't have any abode. Then there are the cheapskates who received't pay for kitty to be spayed. they have internet and eat out 4 circumstances a week yet they only won't be able to have the funds for a spay. some particularly stupid ones choose thier youngsters to journey the miracle of beginning without bothering to confirm out what to do with the little miracles once they are born. And the all-time stupidest ones justify the being pregnant via asserting "each and every of the kittens have already got homes". How do they recognize kitty received't have 12 kittens instead of four? How I wish people might want to wisen up.

Didn't it indicate somewhere what the sex was? They usually do this for statistical purposes if for no other.
This is a puzzle for me. I have heard of the spay being done more from the side in feral cats as they have to be released shortly after surgery. Doing the operation from the side is apparently less likely the cat will get an infection. Obviously she would not be getting her belly in the dirt.
I would call them. There must be a reference number somewhere on your paper and they can check on the sex.

definitely on the belly. I had a female cat at one point and had her spayed and it was on the belly. That is where the female organs are.
