Speaking as a person who has had desires for the same sex.....let me state: this may be one of God's biggest tests to all mankind. GOD CREATED ALL PEOPLE: black, white, asian, indian, children born w/ aids, MS, birth defects, heterosexual, homosexual, asexual, etc. WHY??: because each one of these people HAVE A PURPOSE TO FULFILL IN LIFE THAT wll glorify GOD and hopefully bring the lost to a means of salvation. Our PURPOSE in life is not to live down here forever, grow up happy, have children, own a house, drive a beamer, have lots of money, etc. Before we ever enter this life, God has predestined our lives to fulfill a PURPOSE that he needs carried out. And remember what Jesus said was the greatest commandment of all: TO LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. As w/ heterosexuality, it is not the desire that is the sin, but the actions. Having sex w/ multiple partners, cheating on a spouse, etc. is the sin. We were created out of love. Some were created to procreate the earth. But when two people feel that strong mutual soul-mate relationship who is anyone to say that that is not who they are destined to be with?? In any relationship....as long as it is out of love, monogomous, till death due you part and COMMITTED TO GOD it fulfills the requirements that God has set forth for a partnership. Like I said earlier: How do you not know that God is using these type of people (who, like heterosexuals have very strong Christian beliefs and attitudes) to TEST your belief in God as it pertains to His commandments??

we don't decide different persons for the selections that they make. it is your good and your determination. and that's in all probability why this missionary did no longer make a brilliant deal out of it. we don't think in premarital intercourse or ingesting alcohol and many different issues and we don't walk up and initiate telling human beings the thank you to stay their lives. notwithstanding, in case you have an interest in discovering pertaining to to the gospel, you will hear approximately our standards. notwithstanding, that being stated, we do have confidence that performing on gay desires is a sin. notwithstanding if or no longer it relatively is a call or a organic and organic subject does not rather count selection. Sexual family would desire to be between a married guy and lady. The LDS (Mormon) church encourages those with gay inclinations to proceed to be lively in church and lead a celibate life. (And specific, it is the respectable stance of the church.)

A trio of psychologists associated with the National
Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) have just published a startling report that debunks one of the major foundations of the homosexual movement: That homosexuals are "born gay." The report quotes noted "gay" scientists as well as "gay" philosophers who openly admit there is no research proving there is a "gay gene" or "gay brain."
"Homosexuality is not purely genetic .... environmental factors play a role. There is not a single master gene that makes people gay. . . . I don't think we will ever be able to predict who will be gay."
Camille Paglia, a lesbian activist has had the courage to boldly state what most homosexuals refuse to admit: "Homosexuality is not 'normal.' On the contrary, it is a challenge to the norm. Nature exists whether academics like it or not. And in nature, procreation is the single relentless rule. That is the norm. Our sexual bodies
were designed for reproduction. No one is born gay. The idea is ridiculous. homosexuality is an adaptation, not an inborn trait.."
Homosexual activists, of course, claim that their behavior
is "normal."
Whether homosexual behavior is normal and genetic is a significant issue under debate in American culture today. Congress is stampeding to pass "hate crime" and "non-discrimination" laws providing special rights for homosexuals; school textbook writers are producing pro-
homosexual materials for elementary school children; Hollywood is openly promoting homosexuality and cross-dressing; and liberal church leaders are blessing homosexual "unions"-all under the false premise
that homosexuality is a positive, normal, and genetically based lifestyle.
Our lawmakers, media elites, school officials, and church leaders would do well to study the scholarly research provided by NARTH ( www.narth.com ) on this important social movement-before they continue to
homosexualize our culture-and to punish those who oppose homosexual behavior as a sexual perversion and sin.

It's wrong, But yet for many homosexuals it feels right. Women were created for Men And Men for Women, I guess it just comes down to religious thoughts.

Homosexuality is a sin. Do not be deceived.
English Standard Version
1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
1Ti 1:10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

I'm not very religious in fact I haven't been to church in years but I think we can only account for ourselves. I can't tell if a homosexual was born that way or not . I don't understand them so I can't judge them live and let live is all I can say. My dog is bisexual and he's just fine. Anyway I think it would be against Jesus' teachings to persecute them. But that's just my opinion.

This answer is in response to a previous question on whether gay is a choice or not. Here it is:
I don't understand how it can't be a choice. Even if you are genetically gay or born gay, as you all seem to try and defend, you still choose to go along with it. So I guess I'm genetically straight and I choose to go along with it. Am I saying to fight your impulse that says you are gay and become straight? I'm afraid there's a lot more to the issue than that.
I am born male, but I cannot choose to be female. One poster even mentioned it's on the same level as eye color. Yeah right. I'd like one gay person to show me on their body that they are gay-show me a so-called genetic trait that proves they are gay. I can prove that I am brown-eyed or male very quickly, but you can say you are gay and not be able to physically show me that you are.
Unfortunately, the door swings both ways. I cannot prove I am straight physically. But it's quite obvious that the human body wasn't meant for gay sexual relations, even if some people's brains are telling them they supposedly are. The human anatomy was built around sexuality between a male and female. It's a fact that two males or two females cannot create a baby. If gay was okay, then why weren't our bodies meant to reflect that. And if you're gay, I am assuming you are pro-evolution. If some of us were meant to be gay genetically, then would our bodies somehow physically reflect that through evolution?
And why is it that homosexuality is a big deal now and not back then? Because the number of homosexuals have risen. But proportional to the population of mankind growing, homosexuals have been considered to explode in the last few decades. Why? Our society is making it much easier to influence you into thinking you are gay. Just look at what we are exposed to. Pornography, everywhere. As your mind accepts more and more kinds of sexual acts, it can start to accept any sexual act, including gay ones. It's a lot easier for you to make that choice, too, when you aren't going to be murdered for it. Society hasn't completely accepted homosexuals, but a big part of that seems to center around the issue of gay marriage. I'm not getting into that here, but it should be clear that if you are gay, you are being influenced to think so.
I've heard a lot of gay people tell me to try to be gay for a while and switch back. I can't believe they of all people would say that, considering how hard it must be for them to go straight for the same amount of time. The choice of being gay isn't immediate. It's gradual. You are gay now, as your life has led up to you being gay now. If you were born with it, wouldn't it be more obvious to you at a younger age? Whatever circumstances led up to each person is always different. However, when you realize what you are asking me to believe about gays being true (that it is genetic and not a choice) is very farfetched.
So in conclusion:
-Nothing to prove you are gay physically
-Human anatomy is built around heterosexuality
-Society has allowed people to think they are gay
-Major choices are gradual, and even genetic traits should be immediate.

I'm religious/spiritual whatever you want to call it. And I totally believe that homosexuality is natural. It appears in every animal group on the planet, so I truly don't believe it's some devious, perverted decision that people make. Science has shown that the chemical make up of a gay man's brain is identical to that of a woman. I believe people are who they are, and God (or whatever you want to call the power or energy) loves everyone and did not make mistakes in our creation... we are as we are supposed to be... yes, even what we see as flaws... I think it's all for a purpose.

It is a weakness of the flesh, just like any other weakness of our flesh that is described in the bible.
We are told to cast off our former selves and not to give into the desires of our bodies, but to submit to God and his will for us.
This is a life long process and is not complete until we take our dying breath.
Sin is sin, no matter what other name you give it, and we give sin many names. Power , greed, lustful desires, all are self will and whenever self will rules, trouble can be found ready and waiting.
When God tells us to hate the sin, but love the sinner, he isnt just speaking about others, he is also addressing us personally, so yes, I had the sin (all sin) my own included.
I avoid open unrentant sinners of all kinds, but a sinner who is truely working on casting off the fleshly self and working towards Gods will for themselves, I will fellowship with anytime.

Some of these answers made me feel very sad. I am a Catholic Christian, have a degree in theology and am married. From what I can see homosexuals feel that they are being true to themselves and I do not believe I should stand in judgement. Perhaps it would be better to worry about greed, cruelty, infidelity etc than to get concerned about who loves who and what consenting adults do. Please can't we learn to tolerate and appreciate people who are different from us?
