I think you mean " how is England different FROM America" ... "in what ways are the English different FROM Americans" .... so the most obvious answer is clearly that the English are better at spelling and Grammar than Americans!

There's tons of differences between us & English, and tons of similarities.

British humor is different, often dealing with sarcasm/irony/dark humor. The British drive on the other side of the road, and likewise the steering wheel in a car is on the opposite side. In fast food restaurants, the portions are generally smaller. I've also found (from travels abroad) that the media in England/Scotland (like TV & newspapers) is much less conservative than in America.

Both places are great and have lots of culture to offer. Not to sound unpatriotic, but I much prefer England =O

Speaking as a first generation American with an English mother, I find that people from England are a little more reserved than Americans. The English sense of humour tends to be on the dry side or very slapstick. There are cultural differences for example it still does matter to many English your class which is usually shown by your accent and manners. Americans tend to focus on ethnicity. Of course their are different spellings thanks to Mr. Webster tidying up spelling for Americans with his dictionary. The English have different words for some objects articulated lorry=semi-truck, torch-=flashlight, boot=trunk, biscuit=cookie, and many more. There is a great deal more, but no time.

England is much smaller than America, in fact closer in size to one of the states.

I worked with a guy from England. I lived in southern CA at the time, and he was most impressed with having lots of sun each day. I guess it's cloudy and rainy in England quite often. Love their accents!!

The English drive on the left side of the road and the Americans drive on the right and are more rude, that's about all.
