I was not aware of this before today.

Sheehan's syndrome is apparently, a very rare and very serious condition involving the pituitary gland that can occur in women after severe blood loss in women after childbirth.

its the ischemia (destruction due to decreased blood flow) to the PITUITARY GLAND during abnormally increased bleeding during DELIVERY (post-partal hemorrhage)..
... pituitary is one of the most important endocrine glands n its hormones control secretion of other hormones!!
