If black people are going to call us white people crackers, then it should be perfectly fine to call them the n word.

If black people can rap about killing white people, then white people should be able to sing about killing them.

First off, I'm not afraid to use the word ******. I just wanted people to focus on the question, not the fact that I would have called anyone a ******.
Secondly, to those of you who call me a racist, learn to read. I never gave any indication as to which side of the arguement I was on. Now most of you find yourself on the other end. You automaticly assume that anyone who has thoughts like this, believes them. Think again.
Third, I know all rappers don't sing about killing white people. Never said they all did, or even all blacks thought that way. It may be true that none of tthe rappers of today sing about killing white people. I was just making the point. It would be perfectly OK. Noone in the media would touch it. If a band like System of a Down wrote a song called "damn them *******", the media would be on them like white on rice. Then it would casuse another uproar of civil rights in America. That's all I'm trying to say.

Black people shouldn't be able to call white people crackers, and they shouldn't be singing about killing anyone, white or not.

Just because some people are racist doesn't mean it makes it better to be racist yourself.

I shoulda known you all had it in your hearts to really wanna say some junk like that. Oh mannnnnnnnn no shame, and that a friggen eitquette question too bwahahahahahahahaaaaaa. Man o man. Don't nobody call yall "crackers" no way and yall still say the "n" word. The term "cracker" is outta friggen style and it has been since the 1970's at least.

But is nice to know where we all stand, eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is what you all believe in. Mmm mmm mmm so all that "we are the world", lovey dovey junk is out the door when the fit hits the shan. Thats a cold thing, Im glad I don't hate you all the way you seem ot hate me, and all because of my skin beig dark and my hair being nappy.

Good question homie. And yes it is racist. Two wrongs dont make it right. No matter what black people do to slander you it doesnt make it okay or justify you doin it back. It actually makes you look ignorant and justifies what the black person who speaks negatively about you is saying.

I hope you don't spend alot of your time thinking about things like this.

I just took it for granted that most people understand the meaning of the word 'stereotype'. Obviously not, because I see an awful lot of it here.

I'm black, and I have never once rapped about killing ANYONE of ANY race! I guess you saw a black person rapping about killing white people on television, so, of COURSE that means every black person in the universe feels exactly the same way, and we wake up rapping about killing white people and go to sleep just rapping away.

If that's what you think, we are ALL in trouble!

Each "half" of each statement is racist, i.e. it's racist for: 1) blacks to call whites crackers, 2) whites to call blacks *******, 3) blacks to rap about killing whites, 4) whites to sing about killing blacks. However, the whole "if then" statement is not racist, it is merely logically valid or logically consistent. That being said, whites would not get away with either "response" and that is a double standard.

But white people have always had it all...and have always thought they were better than everyone else (not just colored people)...so white people call you "crackers" it's not a slave name...and colored people don't think of enslave you when they say it...even now colored people aren't getting any respect...there's still racism in the world...they're just contributing to a small part (not even noticeable)

alright just so we can all straighten out this whole "egual-fredom" bs...and "white people" being able to call black people...the "N" word...and colored people being able to "GET OVER IT"...

Why should they "GET OVER IT" most off them are still being showed off as criminal...mainly on the news....and its true...when anything goes wrong a black person is to blame...when ever something goes right a white person is to blame come on now...that's racist and bias....

and equal freedom...how about colored people...enslave white people for the same amount of time...calling white people is cracker is no big deal...because it's not taken from the pass...calling a black person the "N" word is like calling them your slave...calling a white person "cracker" is like saying "we'll never be enslaved again..you can enslave your self"

Uproar of civil rights? Oh please! Those two statements can be true, and have been true. Those are first amendment rights. After all Mel Gibson has not gotten any "legal" flack for anti-semitic remarks, but a hell of a lot of social pressure. So the statements seek to control social and cultural norms and reactions. Should, only really happens out of a lot of struggle and usually when an actual right is denied. Like the civil rights struggle of the sixties, a lot of states had laws preventing voting of blacks. And I think you'd have a hard time convincing today's culture that responding to name calling with more names and inciting murder is a civilized way to act.
Personally if a white singer did release something like that I would certainly not introduce legislation to prevent them, but I wouldn't buy their album either.

Unfortunately, people in this country aren't color blind, they notice the color of your skin. The "n word" literally means "ignoramus", but it evokes feelings from a time of segregation and racism where black people were once considered second class citizens, if they were considered citizens at all. That and there's a history in this country of lynch mobs led by white supremecists, and white people singing about killing black people evokes those images and associated feelings. Black people singing about killing white people doesn't necessarily evoke such things because there is no history of it. It's just like a guy singing about bashing puppies. Sure it's horrible, but it doesn't evoke the same images as a song about clubbing seals, because there's a history of people actually clubbing seals.

Ultimately, it's the double standard of society; just like a guy who gets lots of action is called a "player" while a girl who does the same is called a slut. But the people who say and rap the things you talk about, they're just ignoramuse and ignoramuses don't hold much sway in my book.

This "site" should show you already how One-Sided it can be by definition. The Word "Cracker" is not blocked out, but NI "double G ER is.

My question is: Why would you want to sing about killing either whites or blacks.

Lot more than just White and Black out there.....

I have always said "What's good for the Goose is good for the Gander". That being said, if they can call us 'crackers' then we should be able to call them '*******'.

We all have equal rights and freedom of expression.

However, I don't agree with any type of racist nickname or remark and I would never use that word to describe any person who is dark skinned.

It will be great when we all get along. Until that day, we must behave ourselves. It isn't right that black people rap about killing white people and it isn't right that white people sing about killing black people. That only continues the hate. If you don't like rap about killing whites, don't buy it and encourage others to do the same. If it doesn't sell, it isn't produced.
