Like you know how you can record things on a portable cassette recorder? Do they make those where you can record CDs? I am making gifts for my nieces. Books on tape, unless I can make books on CD. That would be much more convenient. Thanks for your help!

Yes, you can find them at Walmart. The ones I've seen were also Kareoke machines.

They make them for computers. They're called CD-RW drives, or CD burners. If you don't know how to install one, you can buy an external burner that plugs into your USB port on your computer. The discs you record can be played back on any portable boombox that plays CD's. And they're usually packaged with free software. Just make sure that you're burning audio CD's for music and spoken word (audio books), and NOT data CD's. Data CD's are for storing files and software. For more information, you can go here:

Yes, practically all the new computers come with a CD recorder. You need a microphone and the appropriate software.

there's nothing like that yet! but you can do it through the use of computers. or even have it transferred to a cd by a professional for as low as $10 per cd.

yes there are but I have only seen them on computers, not in any other form than that that I am aware of
