they want us to surrender to terrorism. i don't understand how someone can honestly say that they want us to sink below the level of a terrorist. that would be the most cowardly thing our country could do and there is no reason for it. we continue to use our intelligence to stop attacks and keep our country safe. the least the citizens of our country could do is support the president of our country who is keeping the world safe from terror

I believe if you never served in the Amred Forces, keep your mouth shut about the war! Personally I serve in the military and I don't like seeing my friends die. Everyone who is pro Bush, pro war, come join us, stand with us and fight for your freedoms that you take for granted. If you don't think we should pull out of Iraq, okay! but put your azz on the line also and stop preaching about America's safety if your not willing to be a part of the solution.

Also, I'm an Infantry have been since I was 18 out of high school, my best friend is also in Iraq as a 91w ( medic )

They don't understand that if we surrender that the terrorists will be free of any hinderence and will attack countries at full force. If we surrender the terrorists will just keep attacking, that's why we're in Iraq, so that won't happen once the war is over.

A smart president knows to pick battles he can win. The idiot in the White House picked one he could not.

The Middle East is much less safe now than the day we arrived. Since we're losing the war in Iraq, how long should we continue to fight in it? How many more Americans must die? We tried to foist American style democracy on a nation that didn't want it and didn't need it. Now that they've rejected it, now that this war has lasted almost as long as thre US's involvement in WWII, what's our next move if not to pull out and use those hundreds of thousands of troops to protect ourselves here at home instead of protecting people who hate us halfway around the world?

It is crazy, you cannot bring a 3rd world country to modern civilization thru war. Most of those people in Iraq are so oppressed, they have no idea what we are doing there. They are using pipe bombs to kill the sons and daughters of Americans. They cannot relate to our world the way we know it Its time to bring our troops home. We made our point. I dont think we are keeping our country safe, I think we are bringing anger and hatefulness from a culture who have never been taught what a great thing freedom is and doesnt understand freedom and civility.

Being in Iraq is doing what to keep the world safe from terror?
There is no "surrender", we are the invaders. We either continue or leave, there is nothing to "surrender".

We should, however, clean up our own mess, thats why we stay.

Because they are cowards that would just as soon curl up in a ball on the play ground then to stand up and take it square in the jaw. Well I tell you what. the USA was founded by fighters that didn't back down. If you want to be a cowered I say go to France and eat you cake! Look at their track record and how many times did we have to bail them out of war???

I don't know; they must have French roots or something. I think the underlying cause is to prevent more deaths to our military and innocent civillians but we need to help transfer power from us to the Iraqi government.

Whether you're against the war or not, one thing's for sure. Iraq is better off without Saddam.

I LOVE THIS QUESTION!!

There is a contingent of radical leftists, primarily from the sixties but whose roots go back many decades, whose main aim is to destroy the US government and install a communist dictatorship built on the theories of Karl Marx. These are intelligent, talented, motivated, educated, well funded people with a single-minded goal. They are to be respected and to be feared and they are totally insane. They must be defeated or our entire way of life will be gone in an instant. These are the people who control the lying mainstream media and who want America defeated in Iraq.

These radical leftists, their aims and antecedents are brilliantly exposed in a book called "The Shadow Party" by David Horowitz, who used to be a member of this leftist group, but who now seeks to tell the American people the truth about them. Check out the Front Page Magazine website below and become educated, my friend.

you are a terrorist who wants US troops to stay in Iraq so that you can pick them off in your own country, aren't you

its our presence and our influence in the "terrorist's" territories that is creating the hatred towards us

we have installed and backed terrorist leaders in these areas for decades: in Saudia Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran

We give weapons, technology and other aid to Israel with which they expand and take away land forcefully from the Palestinians

we have kept these people down by force and by starving and blocking trade for generations

and you are surprised they revolt? you blame them? they are fighting for their lives, their culture, and their place on earth with every method they have, YOU WOULD TOO

the best solution is to leave these people their land and their resources to do with what they want. and trade with them FAIRLY. free trade will change things much better and much quicker than anything else. the Soviet Union and China did not change and are not changing by force, they are changing through trade, this should be our model
