I used to let my hair dry on its own after showering, but then my mother says that if you leave it, when you grow older, you will usually get headaches. So I started blowdrying my hair. Then, my hair turned all dry lately. Help? I use Lux shampoo by the way.

Is my mom's theory correct?
Are there any products/shampoos that can help with this?
Is blowdrying my hair the source of the problem?

Thanks.

By experience, I know that if I leave my hair air dry, I will get a headache. So your mom is absoutely right. That said, you can always protect your hair from the heat by using a leave-in conditioner like "Enjoy." Also, treat your hair to a mixture of Mayo, eggs and olive oil once a week so that your hair stays moist and healthy.

There is definitely products to moisturize your hair. Not all that complex either. Go to Sally's Beauty Supply or look "Professional Products" ION Moisturizing Shampoo and finishing detangler up on the net and find where to get it in your area. They have a sale on the giant bottles every so often and I got a 1 liter bottle of the shampoo for $5 bucks just today. It is ION Moisturizing Shampoo. Use it by always shampooing twice and rinsing really well. Then apply ION finishing detangler and then rinse. My hair has not been dull or dry since I started using this combo in 7 years ago. I will also forego the detangler sometimes and just squirt on ION leave in conditioner or nothing at all. I do this when it seems my hair may be gathering a build up of the detangler which is about once every 3 or 4 weeks.
Go get these products and..... ** Shine** Girl**!

Sorry to tell you your mom is wrong, but there is NO link to headaches/ blowdrying hair. However, it iwill dry your hair out (drying it). My Grandmother is 95, and says she has never had a head ache, and dries her hair, I get headaches all the time and seldom dry my hair.

you don't have to blowdry your hair everytime you wash it, maybe your mom is jealous of your pretty hair and wants it to be miserable. i don't think doing that causes that, if not hair stylists would be telling us, yet they don't.
