This might be a dumb question and I think the answer is yes, but I want to find out for sure.

no need to rude. I've already thrown the toy away. I just wanted to know if it is possible and safe to clean it off for future reference. I should had made that clear. I didn't give the toy back to my child.

Truth be told throw the toy away. I have worked with battery acid and know that even washing it with baking soda, water and soap, ect does not get it all off. There is alway a small quanity that is logged in any thing that battery accid leaks on....

Depends on the damage and degree of acid. If it can be cleaned up, but in most cases, throw it away to be safe.

I've thrown away several just from the leaking. No sense taking any chances with the kids. Good thinking on your part!

Common sense honey, yes. It can be simply cleaned off but if it has been dripped enough to smell it from a distance then yes, throw it away.

well, you answered your question. Would you want to play with something that has had acid on it?
I personally would throw it away because that's what I'm like. Ultimately, the decision is yours.

If it is a non electric toy you can wash it in the sink with water and baking soda. Baking soda will nuetralize the acid.

in no way threatened. continuously a promise. If my son refuses to %. up his toys (he's very nearly 4), i am going to placed them in a trash bag and "throw them away". through "throw them away" I advise that they are submit for a good even as and presented out at a later date. good tactic and intensely useful. My son could evaluate himself fortunate. My husband's mothers and fathers did a similar element in ordinary words they extremely threw away his toys. in ordinary words took once for my husband even as he became little!

It is possible to neutralize battery acid, but why take any chances? Throw it out!!
