Religion is not one big joke. It's a bunch of big jokes and millions and millions of little jokes.

If we didn't have religion we could believe in ourselves....You forget that some of the most influential people in history didn't believe....Albert Einstein, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abe lincoln, Galileo Galilei,Ernest Hemmingway, Susan B.Anthony, Ben Franklin...and countless others...they believed in themselves and accomplished bigger things that benefited our entire planet instead of being held back by "religious" crap.One of the best examples of this is the story of Galileo, He knew the truth but religious leaders forced him to think a way he knew wasn't right.

I laugh at religion because it beats the alternative, namely killing, maiming and slaughtering in its name.

There is much more to believe in besides religion. There are millions of things that I believe exist. God just isn't one of them.
Stop pretending that your religion is the only thing someone can believe exists.
