I think that people dream both in color and in black and white. I'm a designer, and color is very important for me, so I dream mostly in color. My brother is a mathematician, and he dreams mostly in black and white. I think the color=vision thing is just a tale.

Whoever told you that was desperate to find some evidence of visions. I think you need to stop believing what people tell you and use your own experiences and your own mind to make your own decisions.
I have dreamed in color many times. They were not visions, they were just dreams with the same type of content as my black and white ones. The ONLY difference was some color. If thats what constitutes a vision, then visions are pretty damned lame.

poeple are capable of of dreaming both in black and white and in color. Many dreams i have are in color. I just dreamt of a tiger cub playing with my daughter. I could very easily see the orange color of the tiger's fur.
People sometimes make distinctions between dreams and visions, based on content and significance, but not color. Dreams usually deal with perceptions of reality and one's interpretation of them. These can be nonsense or very helpful. Visions are usually attributed to an interaction with the supernatural, ie God. They have a more other-world nature and have some special and dramatic meaning for the person's life. like a special message from God.

Humm well dreams are something you have when a sleep, most of those that have a vision are awake and both are usually in color. So yes I do dream in color and if I had a vision it would also be in color.

If that's true then it means the dream I had when I was 10 of Tony the Tiger chasing me over a cliff is a vision, not a dream. Frankly, I don't see it happening.

dreams in colour are called lucid dreams
they would appear more vividly and can often be controlled
we take control of our actions in the dreams
there may be more vivid smell and sound also
if for example we were being chased .. then in a lucid dream we would turn and face who is chasing us
i do not feel that these type of dream are visionary or prophetic .. although that isn't to say that some may be
what i do feel is that with lucid dreams and being able to control our dream ... then in turn we can take better control of our lives , as dreams are often a representation of our own fears and worries

I always dream in color. My lucid dreams , I can feel the ground under my feet, and feel wind on my face. All dreams are your sub-conscious working out, or fore-telling your conscience world.
