Does anyone out there in cyberland know why they call my favorite food hangout, "APPLEBEES"?
I have asked several managers and they don't know. I think that it is a question that deserves an answer. Not in the cyberworld, but in Applebees itself.
If your a manager at Applebee--find out. If your a coustomer at Applebees, ask everyone who works there.
Thank you for their Veggie Pizza. My wife loves 'em.

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar name is based on whimsy.

Since its founding in Atlanta in 1980 — when it carried the delightfully whimsical name T.J. Applebee's Rx for Edibles & Elixirs — Applebee's has become a beast. "With nearly 1,700 restaurants," applebees.com says, "it is the largest casual dining restaurant concept in the world"

It was originally named TJ Applebee's Edibles and Elixirs, the founders picked the name because it sounded 'old timey'. It was shortened to Applebee's after the original owners sold out to a big corporation.

Most likely, the name of the guy that started it. I found their steaks comparable to shoe leather ! They have good advertizement though. Reminds me of Maytag.
