Yes, it is always good to make sure that your parents know how you are feeling.

It's hard, but make sure you get the help you need. If you need to talk to a counselor, you'll need their help taking you and paying. If you need a medication, they'll need to help pay for that.

Depressions hard enough, you shouldn't feel like you need to do it alone.

And if your parents don't hear you the first time, tell them again. And again. And if that doesn't work, tell someone at school who you trust.

Hope you feel better soon.

Well, if you don't think your parents will take it seriously, then I don't see the point at the moment. The point is that you need help to get through this with therapy and maybe medication. Your parents will have to be informed about the meds, if it comes to that, if you are under 18. In the meantime, get some help from a counselor and s/he could help you with both the depression and talking to your parents in a way that will help them see that depression is not normal.

Is it worse than it was the last time you told her? If so tell her again and try to emphasize on how bad you feel. If she doesnt want to listen, talk to your councelor and tell him/her your situation. If you dont feel you need help, it might not be that bad. You might just need to talk to someone. I went through junior high and high school terribly depressed. I didnt get help until I was in my 20's. Had I gotten help sooner, it would have made a world of difference. You obviously have a very good friend that cares. If you feel you are depressed, tell someone. Dont wait like I did.

of course you need not go through this alone. depression is serious. you need to be able to speak to someone. not go it alone. support is a main factor. and the first step which you have already taken was to acknowledge it. that is the first sign towards healing. you do want the help whether your friend initiated it or not you afre not alone in the battle of oppression. allowing the weight of the world to overcome you. if you cant change a situation no need in worrying about it.change what you can and leave alone what you cant. depression allows other illnesses to create in your body. shake it off. easier said than done but practice. you are a lovely person regardless, you are one in a million. only one of you. i know that the way that people even address you can upset you or hurt your feelings. you have to be in control and realize that people only do to you what you allow them to do. sometimes i look in the mirror and think wow i am ugly. then i say oh hell no i am a beautiful person. my God made me one of a kind uniquely made. no matter the problems of the world you need help with dealing with it. your parents cont understand cause they have nt been through it. you have to at least tell your mom that you are crying out. youwant her support to help you get help and good luck

Yes you shout tell your parents or somebody you can trust about your depression. Depression can affect any body and at any age the sooner you get treated the better. I and one of my Friends have suffered from depression for many years and I know how disruptive it can be to your life so medical help is important such as counselors so go to your medical center. Sometimes it not easy saying to your mother or father but keep at them if you feel your feelings or depression doe's not improve, there are many things and problems that can cause depression such bullying or just strange thoughts. if your a teenager it could be hormonal apart of growing up but please get it seen to there is help out there you just need to look

First off your family will be the only one to love you or care about you even if you dint think so.
my opinion, bring it up tell them you want to talk to someone about your feeling of depression. If you still get that attitude, then got to a councilor at school or find one in the yellow pages. Even if you have to chat on line there is allot of people that go though what you are!!! you'll be shocked.

If you think she won't listen, try seeing the school counselor. Get someone who is an adult in good standing to talk to her with you.

Please don't listen to the people who say "just get over it". Its not about being sad or hurt. It can be a chemical thing going on. By all means, do things to help yourself, but make sure you do things that are good for you (art, writing, exercise, etc). If you still feel bad or if you have thoughts of suicide, talk to someone who will listen to you.

If you have depression she would've already noticed by now. I still don't know why I'm depressed but the world and its pet dog seems to know. At college, I was even recognised as some depressed guy and at home, my mum keeps telling me life sucks at one minute and then life isn't so bad the next.
Seriously, if you're depressed, it shows... you don't need to tell anyone because they will help you if you're that bad. Unless you're thinking about doing something stupid (not ordinary) from being depressed, just ignore it.

Yes you should. Depression is a hard to go at alone. Tell your parents they should help you. It is normal to get in slumps but, maybe she didn't truely understand how bad it really is. Try talking to her again.
