i have strep throat but nothing seems to b makin it better. im on the meds but i cant swalow ANYTHING. what should i do to help ease the swelling?

i just had strept throat the other day. basically, dont talk at all, try and drink water, it helps your throat, and if u do try and eat, eat soft things like banannas and yogurt... i know its hard and it sucks so good luck

you can make the meds go down easier if you put them in applesauce. take ibuprofen or advil for swelling and you can use a cold pack on your neck also drink cold liquids. I know it is hard strep throat really sucks but you have to get the meds in to start feeling better.

Well, let me tell ya, I used to get it in my teens something fierce! I was bed-ridden and couldn't even swallow my saliva, had to spit in a bucket. Finally went to the hospital to get 3 hypos in the butt. Spent the night there too. Got it in it's worst form.
Go to the emergency room. You will be glad you did. You have to get rid of the bacteria with medicine. Or you will suffer like I did.
I could only eat Cream of Wheat.
This is some serious stuff, don't make yourself suffer any longer.
You will feel better the next day. Please go now or you won't be able to sleep.
After many years, I stopped getting it. Think you get immune to it. Thank God, I wouldn't want that again-ever!

ask your doctor to give you a shot of bacillin. My daughter had chronic strep and that med got rid of the strep within a few days.

Best way to reduce swelling is gargle with warm salt water tastes horrible but works.Other way is to use Chloraseptic spray or Sucrets.

How long have you been on the antibiotics? Just trust your doctor and do what he tells you. In the meantime, look in the pharmacy for herbal remedies for the swelling.

you can buy chloraseptic spray and spray the throat cut your pills in half then take them you MUST take all the pills until they are gone even if you feel better. the spray will numb the throat and you can use it as often as you need it
