I was talking to this guy, who is let's say ten years older than me and I'm in my early twenties. But then one day he said that he didn't want to lead me on because he still likes his ex. We both still remained close friends after that. But then one day I found out that his ex came back like a month before we went back to being friends. I confronted him about this and he just gave me some excuse. From then on, we agreed to be straight-forward with each other. Then I found out from him that his ex wants him back. The thing is we talk everyday over the phone, but then recently one night he ignored my calls and texts. He seems to be trying to avoid me at all cost. I really do value the friendship, and still want to continue it. So, I was thinking should I send an e-mail? Is that too much? Should I just forget about being friends? I'm really confused as to why he would do this? At the same time I'm feeling very hurt.

I am really sorry you are going through this. Sadly, I think you were just someone who gave him the attention he needed, while he waited for the "ex". Your sweet intentions on continuing the friendship will be met with silence and distance. He was never really "into" you, or he would have been chasing you, not the "ex". He is ignoring your calls & texts, because he is feeling guilty about what he has done, and doesn't want to lead you on any further. Instead of being chivilrous, and telling you the truth, he is hiding behind excuses and distances, keeping you at bay. He knows full well that he is breaking your heart, and he doesn't care. He is getting what he wanted, in his "ex". Wait until it doesn't work out a 2nd time, and look who will be calling again. DO NOT ANSWER THAT CALL. Do not give him another chance to use you, and break your heart all over again. Trust me in this. Spare yourself the pain and drama. Respect yourself, and say, "I CAN DO BETTER." Best wishes, and take care of yourself. He sure isn't doing that for you.

Maybe he's just trying to figure out what he needs to do. give him some time and space. I would say send the e-mail and tell him exactly how you feel, and after that chill out for a while and wait for him. If he wants the friendship, he'll make some kind of effort, if he doesn't, then you know the friendship didn't mean as much to him as it did to you. It's tough, but sometimes you gotta let go and wait for it to come back to you.

It sounds like he's playing games. He probably wants to get back with his ex, so that's why he's ignoring your calls. At this point don't call him, don't let him think you're dying for him. He might just take advantage of the situation.

That burns. But maybe its not him thats ignoring you. maybe his ex is telling him not 2 answer you. he might be afraid that if he answers you his ex will leave him again. maybe his ex dont like you and doesnt want you 2 come between them. then again maybe he justs dont like you no more! so f**K him and her. he'll realize what a good friend he just lost!
