I have to career in mind for college. I wanted to know some things about both veterinarian and photography. How much do they pay? Which would be better for a girl who loves animals and taking pictures?

If you are a veterinarian or a photographer would you please contact me (thats_lovely123).

It would be very helpful if you knew any websites to help too.

I currently completed a course for Veterinary Assistant, i have yet to find a job in that field. I also had a tough time deciding between vet and photography. I chose Vet Asst. because i love animals. Good luck in which ever you choose!

There's no reason you can't be both! Be a vet, the money is decent and you get the immeasurable satisfaction of helping animals. Then be a photographer on the side. I don't know how much a professional photog makes but I'm certain a vet makes more, and a vet can be a photographer but a photographer can't necessarily be a vet.

As a vet you will have the opportunity to do wild animal rescue & conservation work. My old vet (Codornices Vet Clinic in Albany CA) had photos on his wall of various wild animals he worked with in the field, neatly combining his love of vet service with that of photography.

You can be a pet photographer. You can do on site photography. Horses, dogs etc. You would spend less time in school getting a photography degree than to be a vet. You could also use the photography as a way to pay for vet school. If you are good, you can make money as a photographer and there are many types of photography. Decide where your passion lies and go after it!

You gotta bear in mind that being a vet isn't always the best career choice for someone who loves animals. Its not all helping fluffy kittens to walk, its being able to put an animal down, artificially inseminate cows, treat livestock. You see a lot of cruelty. Though, if you think you'd be able to hack that, it would be a more stable career choice than photography. Do lots of work exp in both, that might help you decide?

What about a zoo keeper? Great photo oppertunities there!
