That is the way they mow. The mower also pushes the grass down and makes it shiny if it is pointing away from you and dark if it is pointing at you.

Okay, if it is TV, it is probably not mowed grass at all!!! It is astro turf. Cut and layed in design. That is t.v. for ya!! If real, okay then it's the way they mow. I think you could do it if you planted different grasses too. Or you could get sqares of sod of different types and lay them in designs of different patterns and colors too. Hey I may try that in my own back yard, wow, an "aha" moment!!! :)

It's how they mow the grass. Alternating directions then again at 90 degree angles.
