If Jesus was the Son of God the natural outcome should have been just one Holy Book or Bible with the OT as "before" and the NT as "after", why did'nt it evolve thus?

The prophets of the Old Testament pointed towards the promised Messiah. The New Testament was the fulfillment Old Testament in that it reveals the promised Messiah. There is a perfect blend between the Old and New Testaments.

Because the stories were made up at different times. The OT was written over a thousand years before the NT. The NT was written decades after Jesus supposedly died. It had a different agenda.

It did evolve, Christians think. But, if you take the Jesus part out of the NT, it is the things the OT is made of. Do not forget, the whole world is not made up of Christians. I, myself, do not accept the NT as part of my Holy Scriptures.

Hello Alex S

Good question. The old testament and new testment do blend.. Jesus did not fullfill all prophecies of the old testament, there are many to be fulfiled in the near future.

The Bible is not just one book. It is a compilation of 66 different books written over different centuries. There was over 400 years between Malachi and the birth of Jesus.
