I own Pinnacle Studio Version 9 and it is horribly unreliable. It prone to freezing and crashing so I am throwing in the towel with Pinnacle product.

My primary used will be making DVDs shot with my digitial camcorder, but I have other uses for it.

I want a reliable software package that can also export the sound from the video to an MP3 file. I will shooting videos to promote a new website for a video blog, but I also want to export the audio to an MP3 file for possible podcasting.

Whoever gives the best recommend for a non-Pinnacle produce will get the 10 points.

I'd say the best out there is Adobe Premier. Not sure why it wasn't mentioned but there you go.... yeah I have had my fair share of time wasting with Pinnacle products, wasted £150 on them in 1998.
