War is always tragic and yet mankind seems to be destined to pursue it. My beliefs are of a pacifist nature and therefore I see only pain and suffering in war of any kind. If we eliminated the military and defense weapons and used all of the funds to feed, educate and provide health care to those less fortunate in the world we would be more respected and more blessed. The leaders of our country have way too much personal pride thinking they can be the police of the entire world. We need to get our priorities straight as a nation, more in line with what is right. There is universal truth. To deny that is ignorance. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me!

The war in Iraq is a little more complicated than these people are making it out to be.
How do I know that? Because I'm in Iraq right now.
The vast majority of civilian casualties in Iraq are caused not by the US military, but by local militias. It seems the people of Iraq can't seem to get along with each other, because they are of different religions. So, they set up car bombs in marketplaces, at mosques, or anyplace else people gather in large numbers.
Do you really think the situation would get any better if the US packed up and left? Half of the police are members of the militias. The locals don't trust their police or army, unless there are Americans with them to make sure they do the right thing.
You read the headlines every day..."Iraq is on the verge of civil war." If the Coalition Forces were not here to stabilize the country, there probably would be a civil war.
What do you think would happen then? The US would be right back over there, cleaning up the mess, because the rest of the world would say it was all our fault.
I don't agree with the reasons we came to Iraq in the first place. However, now that we are here, we have to stay here.

As a soldier, I went to Iraq and I can tell you that it is NOT the goal or aim of the US to purposely bomb, torture, kill or mame innocent civilians. Soldiers are people too and many of us have families and children the same age as the children in the pictures. MY OPINION is that the web site is simply more propagandist bull$hit intended to make the US and the US military look bad and portray soldiers and the president as heartless babykilling monsters - WHICH THEY ARE NOT. Sure the pictures are horrible but who killed and mamed those children in the pictures? The pictures only show soldiers dealing with grown men, not children. That one little girls wasn't being touched by the soldies, notice? A picture may tell a thousand words but WHAT are those words. Some of those pictures could have been Iranians injured BY Iraqis in the Iran- Iraq war. Do you know who took those pictures or underwhat circumstance they were taken or when they were taken??? NO YOU DON'T. while it's really really easy to assume they are what you think they are, you really don't know and yes human suffering is horrible but the truth is that the US doles out more humanitarian aid and medical aid to Iraq and the world than ALL OTHER NATIONS!!! I think your heart is in the right place but your facts are both incomplete and misguided. There is so much anti US propoganda out there that the lies have been repeated so many times that it's easy to believe them when you hear them so often.

You should see the awful carnage left behind by terrorists who bomb innocent civilians if you want to see something horrid. Insurgents make a habit of setting up mortar and antiaircraft guns on top of homes so when they are bombed the media can point to the atrocities of the Americans. War is hell and there is no other way to describe it. Now as for our involvement in Iraq I was against it from the beginning. We didn't have sufficient troop strength and we didn't have the money to pay for it all. Further our hasty government did not realize what it would take to rebuild the country's economy and supply chains. They attacked Iraq because Iraq was weak. Oil is the real reason. Bush and company have been a disaster for this country. The demos are no better. We need a change. The libertarian party seems to be the only viable alternative with a decent chance to win.

Why is half of the website in spanish? I used a free translation website to figure out what the other half of the website says.
Anyways, I think it is sad that the children are getting hurt like that, BUT I also believe that some children have crazy parents that put their children out in the cross-fire! Te parents I'm talking about are probably part of the suicide bombers & think that thier children will be with GOD if they help destract the evil ones (US or UK). The US/UK would have left by now if the local people stopped shooting at the US/UK. What do you think would appen if you kept shooting at someone down the street? They are going to keep sooting back at you until YOU stop. I don't agree with WHY the war was started, but random shootings from the locals will only keep the US/UK in Iraq longer. I have friends who were shipped BACK TO IRAQ when they only had like 3 months left & now they were involunteerly resigned-up for another year! I wish this war would stop too...

I clicked on the site you posted, and was looking at the horrid pictures of the innocent victims of war...when, I kid you not, all of a sudden, my browser just mysteriously closed...all by itself.
It is very easy for us here, in America, where we are relatively safe from this hell, to look at it from afar and click our tongues and try to lay blame here or there. I don't have any idea why America is over there, to be completely honest about it, but I have wondered. I'm pretty sure that if war were to come here, I'd try to get myself and my kids out of the path of the fighting, but who can say? I know that there are terrorists who think nothing of shielding themselves behind kids like these, and then using the resulting carnage to gain sympathy for their "cause", and that is disgusting...what can we do about it, is my question?
How can we be sure we hit the "right" targets? How can we fight a war, without any innocent casualties? How can we keep the kids safe?
If anyone ever comes up with a real answer to these questions, I'd sure like to know about it, because it doesn't look as if things are getting any better, and who knows? It could be our own kids in the path of some terror crazed suicide bombers, or some blood thirsty troops bent on revenge, or maybe just some "peace keeping" forces next........

Thanks so much for your post. I'm originally a Palestinian who never saw his homeland, except for a brief time. I see on the news (Not the 'free' western media) pictures of Iraqi, Palestinian, Lebanese and other kids from all around the world being hurt. I'm sure some people now will say "These pictures are made up". NO!! They're real, and it happens almost everyday. Kids being killed and slaughtered under the claim of "An act of self defense"!! What's the crime did these children do to be killed or even injured? In Lebanon, after the last aggression from Israel, over 350 children UNDER 12 were killed! Where's justice! GOD have mercy on us and clean the world from evil!

That is very sad, but you know the Americans didn't go around showing tons of these kinds of picture after Sept. 11th and make a big deal about all of the innocent who died or got hurt to the terrorist's country.
It's not our (military) fault that the enemy hides in local places where the innocent live. There is something called being a casualty of war. The US isn't going out of their way to kill kids.
I understand what you're trying to show us, but get all the facts

To be quite 100% honest. I believe that we need to fight for what we believe in. Yes, different people have different opinions, but I do disagree with them hurting children. I LOVE CHILDREN & I hate that they are doing that to children. But, on the bottom where the pictures of the prisoners, I think that the prisoners [ Adults ] obviously DID something to be in that situation.
And I highly doubt that they would just take random people prisoner.

I wouldn't mind betting the Iraqi terrorists did that to those kids just to create the photo opportunity.
After all, they thought nothing of killing all those people in America on 9/11 and in London on 7/7. I find it more than likely that they would do that to kids just to fuel their vile little propaganda machine.
