windows 200 can be installed witin win98 through opening windows explore open the 2000 disk click on set up pick upgrade
windows will shutdown leave disk in drive if asked to change file system to ntfs pick no you can dule boot from 98 to 2000 and keep both systems on your computer if you want to all your files will be available in both systems you pick which system you want from the boot up menu after you install I have done this on many ocassions if a driver fails in 2000 you can swich back to 98

When I upgraded from 98 to xp I cleaned the entire disk Drive for a clean install

No. You have to make sure first, that you have enough memory and RAM for Win2000. If not, then you could be headed for big trouble. Be patient and look into it. Read what you need in order to change you system. Otherwise you may have a bigger headache than you imagined. Good luck.

you may bypass the the microsoft website and pay more desirable to be able to apply an same disk and code on yet another computer or computer. and that i might want to examine the computer has the right criteria previously doing something.

Well no. Win2K uses NTFS rather than FAT32. The least you should do is back up your hard drive first. You have heard about back ups, right?

xp is better, but id wait for vista. Since xp support is running out in 2 yrs.
