physically or displacement? The MEL (mercury, Edsel, Lincoln) motors are the biggest physically. The Biggest one of those was the 462 C.I.D. big to the point that it is almost square. Even the triton V-10 is physicall smaller than the 462, but not by much. Even though it has ten cylinders, it is still smaller than the 462. However if you want to talk displacment, the sky is the limit (almost). Personally i run a 408, but that is still housed in a 351w block. When you talk about displacment, you are talking about the amount of Cubic inches that tare displaced in the cylinder chambers, not the actual size of the motor. All of this is determined by the size of the pistons\chambers (I.e. bored .30 over) and the length of the stroke. As an example you can take a 351w with a standard bore (4 inches) and a standard stroke (sorry don't know that off hand, but i believe it is around 3.5 inches). Increase the bore to, say .30 over (so now the motor has a bore of 4.30 inches) and increase the stroke length (to lets say 4 - 4.5 inches of travel) and now you are displacing 408 CID. These are whats known as "stroker Motors", and Ford built a huge one in the late 60's. It is known as the "cammer" it was a 427 single over head motor that was was bored out 40 over and had an incredible stroke. To my knowledge ford never released the actual stroke and CID of this motor, being that it was specifically ment to destroy Dodge in NASCAR. I will admit that Dodge kicked some pretty good *** in the late 60's in Nascar.with their Hemi engines. So displacment wise i would have to say that would be the biggest motor ford has made.
However you want to look at it i hope this answers your question, just remember "there is no replacement, for displacement"

Ford trucks in the 60s had 3 large gas engines.
One was a 477. The big one was 534 cu. in. and
had a governed Holley 4bbl carb. They went to
at least 1974.

Ford automobiles have many times been rather solid and many times supply long provider lives. even with the shown fact that over the final years, they have suffered very much with their transmissions. that's purely been interior the final 5 years, that Ford transmissions have gained solid comments and have shown solid provider existence. paying for between the hot Ford F350's, will possibly supply an prolonged provider existence while nicely maintained.
