A high RBC count may indicate congenital heart disease, dehydration, obstructive lung disease, or bone marrow over-production. A high RBC count is also seen in beta thalassemia trait, a benign condition with little or no anemia. Your doctor should do further testing to determine what the exact cause may be.

There are many reasons that you have a hight red blood cell count. I would recommended having your doctor follow up with some more testing. When the doc. said you had high red blood cell count, did he order more testing? Do you have heath conditions at the current. These things can be a reason for a high count.
I hope all works out well. Take Care of yourself!

Has your doctor talked to you having blood taken to reduce the numbers of red blood cells? I know that is a treatment one person has that I know for too many red blood cells. This blood cannot be donated in her case. I am not sure I understand your question. Are you obtaining medical treatment or is this an academic question?

easily that is a situation noted as polycythemia and there are diverse sorts. authentic polycythemia (Polycythemia vera) might want to be led to through many stuff even with the undeniable fact that the body basically produces too many RBC (pink Blood Cells) and regularly the medical care is basically eliminating some blood at regularly happening periods or through irradiating most of the bone marrow to diminish its profundity. A 2d situation is a couple of minutes period polycythemia led to through dehydration and is dealt with through administering fluids

A high red blood cell count is called policitemia. There are various types of it.
primary policitemia: this group is divided in policitemia ¨vera¨(true primary policitemia), which is a due to a disorder in the bone marrow that causes overproduction and growth of red blood cells, like cancer. Relative policitemia is an aparent increase in number, mostly due to states of dehydration or hipovolemia.
Secondary policitemia is a response of the bone marrow to several conditions, that could phisiologic(for instance exposure to air with low percentage of oxigen, at very high altitudes) or pathologic( cardiovascular shunts like persistent ductus arteriosus, with mixture of oxigenated and non-oxigenated blood)
I think you have to talk to your phisician and try to find de underlying cause first.

One way to have higher # of red blood cells (Polycythemia) is that a person lives in a high altitude area (Colorado). The bodily tissues need O2 so more RBC's were formed to carry O2 in an environment of lesser available O2 (thinner air). Donate blood can bring the # down only if you are a healthy person!!

you could be having a problem with circulation. if the body does not get enough O2 to all of the parts of the body, your marrow will start making more RBCs and that can be the main reason for your high count. it is either a respiratory problem or a circulation problem. talk to your doctor.
