Before I had my cat spayed, she was very affectionate and she would run to greet me when I came home. She used to jump on my lap and rub on me. Now she doesn't do any of that. Why has she changed since the operation?

My cat acted like that too. She went back to herself after a couple days. I think she was just mad at me honestly. I'd assume the same in your case.

Before being spayed, it is entirely possible that your cat was in heat. Being in heat causes uncharacteristic friendly behavior. How long has it been since she was spayed? Maybe she is still recovering from her operation. If so, just give her some time and she will come back around. Give her plenty of attention and dote on her a lot. Make sure that she is not ill by having her checked by the vet that did her spay, if you are very worried and think that something still isn't right after a few days.

well think about this if you just got cut open and wasnt allowed to have babies you would be acting different too. Here's the real reason, your cat might still be feeling different because she has been operated on and basically she has been hurt, well in her eyes. She should return to her old self soon. Dont worry!

They all do that but it will get better I have 3 cats all of them fixed, it takes them a while to get back to normal, it might be the soreness of the operation, they have just gone through mayor surgery so it takes time for them to completely heal. Just give her some time.

the first couple of weeks after the operation she is hurting from the surgery. after this u know she will not go "in heat" and that may account for some of it. buy her toys and play with her and she will jump on u again i think.

How long ago was the operation? She may be adjusting to major changes in her body sicne the removal of several of her sex organs. She will be fine. Give her time to adjust.

Cats have a very long memory, 25 hours tested, dogs have 5 minute fyi.

How do you think having a hysterectomy would affect you?
