I don’t believe in God or religion for many reasons, but consider this ...

Human beings today live for about 80 years on average. In the past humans only lived for about 40 years on average, and in the future, who knows, they may live for 120 years or more.

Religious people who believe in God seem to think that if you don’t believe in God that you will be banished to Hell for eternity. These same religious people believe that God is also fair and just.

If God is fair and just, then why would he allow humans today more time to believe in God than he allowed humans in the past, and why allow humans more time in the future to find and believe in God. That’s hardly fair and just.

look just ignore what the religious folks say. They are simply addicted to their religious ideology. It's like a drug, try to take it from them, they get all mad, say mean things, and cause lots of trouble. Their deal makes them feel good.

The people that invented their religions were smart enough to set it up so the ignorant can't give it up. When i was in grammar school (catholic) the teachers said if you don't believe then you go to hell. Being a kid i got scared and was like **** that I'll believe, what do i have to lose? Some people are just weak, and they need their religion to falsely reassure them everything's alright. I guess thats fine b/c we'd have a lot of people going crazy if they didn't have their "faith."

You can bring this up to the "true believers"-they will instantly fold their arms and close their minds. Some people can be saved from the oppression of religion, but only the open minded. They'll say "read the bible" or koran, yada yada-sad really.

Basically, they're not worth your time. Enjoy life pal

I had a rather lengthy response to your question, and it got blown away by the spell checker (bummer!).

We live in an unpredictable world, and our time here is brief. If I die when I'm 40, do I get pi$$ed at God because I didn't live to be 80? Does he "owe" us that? Whether this life lasts 100 years or 100 days, its a mere blip on the radar compared with eternity.

God is fair and just, and we will all appear before Him in the hereafter. As a Christian, I believe that I already know where I stand relative to God's judgement. That is the assurance I have in placing my faith in Christ. However, speculating on the fate of others is inapporpriate (in my opinion). God is the judge, not me. I suspect that we will all agree in the hereafter that God's decisions on each individual's fate are exactly that; fair and just.

God is fair and just.

You are invited to heaven...offer is for you too. You have a free will, use it wisely. If you end up in hell, do not blame me or God or anyone else than yourself. This special offer comes with instrucions. If you do not want to be with God in eternity, you will not be.

God's way is the right way. You can only say that you do not like it. God is God no matter you think about Him. With Him you are in the winning team. If you suffer here, He has the whole eternity to make it up to you. Forever is a long long time...

Your alive for what 60 70 years.
big deal in the way of creation that's not even a blink of an eye.

Hell is not forever, There is a judgment day coming, on that day those judged and found guilty will be destroyed, blotted out no one living will remember them or what they did.

and yes God is more than fair for those in hell now my yet have a chance to redeem them selves, some will but many will not.

then there are also the religious people who do believe in god but not in hell for eternity
these same people may also believe in free will and that god isn't at fault for anything that goes wrong in this world ... or for that matter for all the wonderful things we achieve
these people may see god as a creator and observer
they may also see life as a serious of lessons ... and the longer one spends in this life time more lessons are learned ..... i find that fair and just xx

It depends on where you're coming from......I believe that we choose our own lives before we get here on earth, with God's final approval. We choose when we will die, what injuries we'll have, whether we stay single or get married, have a wife/kids, our race, ethnicity, where we live....all of it. When we get here, we don't remember because God erases our memory from when we were on the other side choosing all of this....we have always existed. So from my angle, yes.....it is all fair.

If you took the time to read the Bible yourself and not rely on other's false doctrines then you would have read in Genesis 5 where Adam lived to be 930 years old. Seth, Adam's son lived to be 912 years old and so on and so forth.

God, Jesus, is fair and just. He has told us His commandments, told us what would happen if we didn't follow His commandments, and He is true to His Word. Sounds fair to me.

Where are you getting your numbers from?

When the bible says that gods words say if you don't worship only god he will punish you for all eternity, That doesn't sound fair to me.

Hmmm...

Couldn't it also be argued that if people live for longer they get more time to become disenchanted with their religion and eventually abandon it? And if they abandon it early in a long life they will be more ungodly than if they abandon it early in a short life?

he is fair and just to those who love and accept him.
we dont rely completely on god. he doesnt pay the bills, but he gives us the strength to get through the day so we can earn the money to do it ourselves.
think about this. things have changed. we have changed. we have evolved, adapted, grown smarter, stronger, more immune. as we have changed, so have our lifespans. we have god to thank. he has alloted each century more time as more is required. dont blame god. he is fair and just.
