Helped me after having a baby. Try it out, if it doesn't work then your GP will prescribe something else.
Made my facial muscles feel weird when I first went on it and felt a bit spaced out and trippy when I came of it but both side effects lasted a few days..no more.
Good luck

All it does is delay the inevitable- whatever that might be. Oh yes and it makes you thirsty, too.

If you are on it for 6 months you think everything is OK and you are able to get through your "issues" whatever they may be.

Then the doc takes you off the damn things and it is just like taking a cork out of a bottle- all the things that the prozac helped you to bottle up, come flooding out. And it ain't pretty.

A side effect of Prozac is depression, never been able to work that one out...

Try chocolate instead...

I think prozac and other SSRI's can be very effective. However they don't help everyone. I personally think anti-depressants should only be used on a temporary basis and that counselling is best for long term support for depression.

It's okay if you're almost always depressed and you don't want to feel all those lows anymore. Unfortunately, you're not going to feel the highs anymore on the really good days, either. As a matter of fact, from what I can see, people don't really feel much or care about much of anything at all. It's okay if you want to spend your life uncomfortably Numb.

It's like a lot of medications, it helps some people, it hinders others. It can work well in the short-term, but isn't recommended for long-term as it's potentially addictive.

Very nice. Don't leave home without it...if it is prescribed by a psych. Family doctors should stay away from the stuff. They mess up to often.

It's been a marriage saver for me and my husband who has been taking it for more than 7 years, that and therapy as needed to get through the tougher times.

Chronic depression runs in his family and we also have a 23 year old who takes it.
