wow. you sound a lot like i did. but it's okay not to have a boyfriend. try making new friends instead. find another sport/activity you like to do and get involved. get a job. go bowling. i dunno enjoy life and don't worry about those things. they WILL come later. just try to be happy where you are. there are worse things in life than not having a boyfriend!

Goodness..we are totally different..but anyway i would tell you what my opinion is.It doesn't matter if you are in tenth grade with no boyfriend cuz it would come at the right time...just be patient. One important thing to keep in mind is that your friends might be having boyfriends, but it might not be the right time for you..don't rush girl..cuz if you do, you might find yourself back in square one-back to when you were confused about who you like...you might even start thinking of why you can't seem to have a proper boyfriend.Darling, even if your long best friend has a boyfriend, that doesn't mean you HAVE to have one..it would come at the right time..trust me..just be patient...and be careful..that's the advise i would give my sis.
You said you "DO want a boyfriend even though the chances of it lasting is minimum".you see that is something i find strange because i don't see a point in having a boyfriend when it wouldn't last, but nevertheless that's my opinion. But still what you wrote is wrong cuz with what you wrote, its as if you want a boyfriend cuz your friends have it..or because you think you should have it ,its like you are so desperate that you would say yes to a jerk if he asks you out.As i said earlier don't rush..go out with a boy for the right reasons e.g love.Don't think you are odd because there are a lot of people like you.
And you don't have to do anything..just be natural!!
Oh yeah about the boy you are confused about...well spend time in sorting out your feelings, think of the reason why you like him..this might not seem helpful but try it.

Honestly, I would advise you not to have a boyfriend. That's probably not what you want to hear, and is probably something ur mom or someone older would say. Well, jsyk, I'm also in tenth grade, and I have had a b/f. It was great!... while it lasted. When he broke up with me, I was heart broken. I had never had somone break up w/me before, and that pain was REAL. It took me almost 5 MONTHS to get over it. I did, and we're great friends now, but I realized something then; we don't need b/f's in High School. It's just drama, and if you DO end up falling in love w/him, you will get SEVERELY hurt when he brakes up w/you, or vice versa. I personally don't need that kind of drama in my life, and I don't think anyone else does, either. But hey, that's just me...

Having a BF isn't as important as getting your education, especially now in this economy.
Its better to get your training, and practical experience for your career now, before its too late.
What happens after high school?
What are you gonna do for a living? Mommy & Daddy aren't always gonna be there. You're gonna grow up - like it or not.
You gonna work some dead-end minimal wage job working in retail or making mass market fast food in some corner fast food dive like Jack-in-the-box?
Where are your priorities, what is more important to you.
You want a guy that is gonna use you and exploit your innocence, abuse you or worse.
Is getting a boyfriend so important? What about your future?
It isn't easy being a single mother and going to college, if you even manage to have the savings to pay for college.
How bad do you want to be a Real Loser. Wouldn't you rather be a Real WINNER in life?
What is more important? Only you can answer that for yourself.
Someday,... you will find someone, who will love you for you, who will care for you, and be there when everything in your world seems like its all b.s. - but he will be there to love you, to care, to listen, to hold you. To laugh in the good times, to cry with you when things aren't so great. Someone who won't just run away when things get tough, someone who will do the right thing for you, because he loves you. Not for drama, not for image, not just because its trendy. Because its for real,....
You'll know that it is real,... have a little faith in yourself.
good luck

I don't have boyfriend either. I want one though. I get all my dating tips (so when I do get a boyfriend I know what to do) from the book called Dateable, The Dirt On Dating, and The Dirt On Breaking up. They might help you.

Slow down, just remember that any old guy is not good enough for you. You have plenty of time to find that special someone.
