Yet again Americans not giving British fighters any respect again, who has Mayweather beat lately that's any good Gatti and Judah were both good fighters in their prime but pbf caught them on their way down, and if he is that good why does he consistently duck Margarito and now he has took a much easier fight in Baldomir which yet again looks like a good match up for him to carry on undefeated I'm surprised he didn't even take an easier option like Mosley now that hes getting on in years. As the for the answer to your Question I think Hatton could beat him at Welter by cutting of the ring and destroying him with bodyshots at Light Welter it would be an easy victory for Hatton that's the same division that pbf ran away from to avoid Hatton in the first place. As for pbf being rated best pound for pound its a joke he only takes fights he is comfortable with and ducks everyone who might beat him bit of a coward in my eyes. And to the answer above about the ref helping Hatton against Tszyu what fight did you watch, Tszyu got dominated throughout the fight and retired on his stool before the 11th how could the ref of influenced that. Now that was a fighter who was best pound for pound in his prime (Kosta Tszyu) but yet again because he weren't American he didn't get the recognition he deserved.

Although I can not stand Floyd, he would surely beat Hatton. Ricky hasn't adjusted to the heavier weight yet and I don't think he ever will. He looked horrible in his last fight in which he clearly lost. Ricky fought a very battle worn Kosta in England and the referee did a great job of assuring a Hatton victory to win the championship. On the other hand you have Floyd, pound for pound the best boxer/puncher. Floyd would slice Ricky to pieces with crisp hard punches and would either knock him out or stop him on cuts. Floyds only tough fight I see in the near future will be either against De La Hoya or Margarito, until then nobody in his weight class touches him

Mayweather easily...Hatton would never get past the jab and could not take the accumulated damage that Mayweather would put out. Hatton has great stamina but no polish and Mayweather would just outwork and out punch him with superior hand-speed and maneuverability.

If Floyd can keep Hatton off of him, then he'll win. If Hatton fights like he did against Tszyu, then Mayweather will lose.
