My little girl is turning 3 on monday, we had a party for her today and i just feel like crying. She is growing up soo quick, why do i feel like this, i have another daughter and she is 1. It just makes me so sad and proud at the same time that they are growing up! ?Why do i feel like this? Has anyone else had the same feelings. Every time i look at her i just want to cry (happy tears!)

You're such a great mom. I also think that my daughter is growing up too fast, but that's just what happens. I can't believe that she is approaching sixteen months old, I dread to think what I'll be like when she's three!
But your feelings are normal, don't worry about them.

I think it is normal or else our hormones are messed up. I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. I feel exactly the same way you do. It is a joy to watch them grow and learn, but it seems to be happening way to fast. I just make sure I enjoy every minute I have with my kids.

They do grow up so fast... seems like yesterday when my son was so little he had to have preemie clothes... he was under 6 lbs when I brought him home from the hospital... and now he is 16 yrs old and over 6ft tall... bigger than I am. It makes me sad to see him grow up so fast, yet.... he is a good person, a kind person... and I know he grew up well as he cares about other people and is responsible. Sometimes I wish I could make him that little baby again... but I think every mom feels that way. Just be happy that she is healthy and happy and take it one day at a time... you will always cherish those days when they were so small... but every age has good things. It makes me feel so good when my son comes over and just gives me a hug because he loves his mom... makes me know I must have done something right.....

I am the same way with my 3 year old daughter. The time just seems to fly by. You feel like that because you are a normal happy parent.

It is completely normal to feel these ways. My oldest daughter is almost 3 and I think about these past 3 years and I want to cry too. The past 3 years have been so wonderful to see her coming home from the hospital and now she's walking and talking and saying I love you. Children are somthing wonderful!

Those are tears of happiness because you see your kids growing up in a normal way and healthy. And those tears also mean that you realize you have been doing a really good job as a mother.

If it is just happy tears then motherhood has made you overly sensitive and I wouldn't worry about it too much except I would cry privately (especially NOT in front of your daughters) because it could scare kids.

If you are crying, anxious and depressed I would go see a psyciatrist because you could have post-partum depression.

It is soooo normal. I feel the exact same way when I see my neices. It's the passage of time...it makes you feel old, feel like time is going by too quickly. It's bittersweet.
