For Massachusetts: The Berkshires are nice - try Lenox/Stockbridge area or Williamstown. Also, either Nantucket Island or Marthas Vineyard. Also - Cape Cod - I like Wellfleet.
Vermont: I like Manchester or Burlington.
Maine: Bath is nice.
Rhode Island: New Port or Block Island
Connecticut: I'd pick the Mohegan Sun over Fox Woods. Essex, Madison or Litchfield.
New York State: The eastern end of Long Island! Stay on Montauk on the South Fork. If you like wines their are lots of wineries on the North Fork.
The catskills in New York State - Lake George.
The finger lake region.
Canada: I really like Nova Scotia too. Halifax is charm! Or go for Quebec or Montreal!

I love Maine and would go back in a heart beat, but Boston, bed & breakfast in Vermont or even Baltimore Harbor would be fun. If you want the Vegas feel in New England, you could also stop by Atlantic City.
