in fact I pay only 10% with british airways + landing fee.

so a trip from london to USA cost me around 60-70$ all included (the guys at the custom were simply jealous, ahahah when i saw them my return open ticket).

and I can book when i want, and set my return when i want.of course this is in stand by, so if the plane is full, I can not board.

I travel traveller plus or in business when I ask for a free upgrade, I always ask.....

do u think I am lucky, my girldfriend is simply disgusted!!!specially when I ask if can get an upgrade class just before flying, and I get it usually.

my gf says such privileges doesnt exist in USA, well I dont care I am an EU citizen, and I fly for free worldwide....

so next time you book a ticket, think about me.

Not really, my dad is a retiree from American airlines so he gets unlimited free ticket, UK to US is US$50 for business and US$75 for first class. And he can get the upgradeable tickets for his friends too, 16 a year. My wife is a flight attendant and she also gets free tickets for friends as well as herself.... I myself am a pilot, i get 2 FREE CONFIRMED tickets a year and I only pay 10% for all the others for my family... so I guess you're not that lucky.. oh I also get 100 kgs free cargo allowance too.

I flew for free for the last 8 years and I considered myself lucky - like you, I was upgraded and flew 1st class on most journeys. however, I never felt the need to brag about it.

Clearly you work for an airline and you only pay the tax. You fly on standby on a space-avalible basis. If its anything by my guess you also get paid bugger all as well and the concessions you get are offered to make up your pityful salary.

Free flights get you round the world but they don't pay your mortgage - thats something you'll understand after being there a while. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Your GF is wrong. Any airline employee does that....except I get to fly anywhere standby for free...or pay about $100 and go first class anywhere if I want actual confirmed ticket.

This benefit includes my parents, my wife, and anyone else I wish to bestow upon.

So it ain't so special really.

Whoop-di-do for you. Sounds like you're the type who snags an upgrade and leaves his g/f to rot back in coach. Fun guy.

Yes...you may be lucky...but the folks in those cities you fly to sure aren't.

(It's a good thing that your Mom can still carry your baby formula on board.)
