Who knows what Flerpangina is and how to cure it?

Stacia is right, it's Herpangina...I couldn't read the doctor's writing!!! Thanks for the help! I tried to google it to no avail!!

Reported Pancakes? It's a real disease that I received from a write up on my son's pediatric report...it's not anything gross, read what the RN wrote...how can I be reported????

i think youre taking about HERPangina.

this is a viral illness which consists or sores, or ulcers, inside of the mouth. sometimes these same sores can appear on the palms of the hands or the soles of the feet - if these lesions on the hands and feet appear, it is called hand, foot, and mouth disease.

this disease is caused by a virus called the Coxsackie virus. you can also get a fever and headaches before the sores ever appear. the ulcers in the mouth especially are often pretty painful. most of the time, this disease strikes children rather than adults - it isnt really understood why, probably because the immune systems of kids are less advanced.

treatment includes tylenol or advil to reduce any fever, lidocaine mouthwash (which numbs the mouth and makes the sores less painful), a non-irritating diet (ice cream, cold yogurt, cold juices like apple and grape juice - nothing too acidic like oranges because this irriates the sores more), and drinking ALOT of fluid. there are no drugs really that target this disease in particular - you just have to let it run its course, and you try and make the symptoms less uncomfortable.
