Getting married at a city hall is really not that exciting. It is a rather sterile place, and the ceremony itself will be plain and dull. You could liven it up a bit by writing your own vows and by wearing some fancy clothes. Carry some stunning flowers, and have your best friends act as witnesses. THEN, go to a local restaurant, famous for its great food, and enjoy the evening with your new husband and your witnesses.

Good Luck!!!

There are some Judges who enjoy marrying couples. Most do not.
You could find an officiant in your area & for a few $$ more, have a small intimate ceremony in a park or some special place; either with guests, witnesses or just the two of you.
In fact, I'm performing just such a civil ceremony wedding tomorrrow.

On your search engine, type in your city, state & wedding officiant. You should have your choice of a few. Or go to my site. I have several vendor's links that will help you locate an officiant in your city.

If you choose to use a judge, then dress up for the ceremony, carry a small bouquet.

Invite the people who are special to you to be witnesses/attendants. Then go out to a nice dinner together! Just because it isn't BIG doesn't mean it can't be special! Really, my wedding would have been ten times better with a quarter the people. Maybe since you aren't having a big to-do right now, you'll be able to enjoy it more and be in the moment with your partner. I was so nervous at my wedding that I barely remember it! I was in a daze! Enjoy your small but special day.

Treat it as if it were a church ceremony.Choose the perfect dress(something simple, but still breathtaking)have a photographer or someone videotape.Write your own vows.Rent or borrow a nice "Just Married" car. Have a romantic night as husband and wife!!!
Big weddings are just for the guest anyway.. Once you both make eye contact during the ceremony, everything else want matter.Good Luck!!

certain, you'll seem strange going to city hall in a large puffy familiar bridal gown. i'd say develop into it after your ceremony, to have the photographs executed, yet in case you at the on the spot are not having a reception precise after that then why worry with the gown in any respect? when you're demise to have a image of your self in a three figure gown, purely attempt it on on the bridal save and characteristic a chum snap a image. keep the money on your newborn's college money, they'll thanks even as they're 18.

My husband and I got married at the courthouse and our immediate families were there with us. Our mothers signed the marriage license as our witnesses.

even though you are having a reception next year, hire a photographer & have pictures taken, that way you can remember the special day through pictures

Special? Standing in front of some judge who recites words from a book.
Why don't you ask your pastor to marry you.
