Seriouslym she used to be so sensible, but since being ill she's gone insane.. she now swears at fat people, asks bad drivers if they've got a problem, steals her daughters clothes, takes photos of us in a dustbin etc etc... it's just.. insane!! She used to be the most sensible out of all of our parents; very proper!!

Sounds to me like her mother has dementia. I work in a residential home where dementia is kept behind a locked door. If her mum starts talking but it does'nt make sense, if she misplaces things and then accuses people of stealing from her...then she has dementia. Either that or she may have recently had some bad news and this is her way of coping. Has kay and her mum argued alot recently? Her mum could be trying to live her daughters life to see where her daughter is coming from. Unless she starts beating ppl up...I wouldn't worry. Just join in!x

It sounds like society has broken her, she probably had a nervous breakdown, and they can change people dramatically. It could be anything really, maybe she caught her husband in bed with her brother, thats just an example but these sort of things really happen and can destroy the victim.
