I've seen lots of news reports about bottled water. What you say is true. Bottled water is really no better than most tap water. I bought an inexpensive filter system for my water at home and use this instead of bottled water. It tastes fine to me. Some bottled water is actually just filtered tap water. The companies who produce bottled water like to make people think their product is superior to tap water when it really isn't. They do it to increase profits.

Depends where the tap and bottled water come from. dasani and Aquafina are just Coke and Pepsi tap water that has been run through filters. Most tap water is better. Some types of bottle water are better like Poland Spring.

I drink tap water and I don't really see a difference then it and bottled water other then convience. Now a days water company's treat the water with much more things then later years, which insures their customers get the best water available. Yes there are certin times they do have a water line break and ask you to boil the water, when that happens I get some bottled water and really see no difference in it.

The only water I will drink is Poland spring. I like the taste. I will not drink town water at all. They treat it w/to much crap. Aquafina and dasani are made w/ some type of osmosis. W/ u open the bottle is hisses like a soda. Umm water is not supposed to do that. I will drink from a well out in country

I can taste the chlorine in tap water. I only buy bottle water when I'm in town and out of water. We have a reverse osmosis that I absolutely love and have the filters changed several times a year.

The problem with tap water is the chlorine that is used to purify most municipal water. Another concern is the heavy metals that leach out into the water from the water lines in your home, among them, lead.
If you do drink the tap water, at least drink distilled water for a couple of days a month. Distilled water, having gone through the distillation process removes all metals and contaminents from the water, so will absorb heavy metals out of your system that has accumulated over the years. Prolonged use of distilled water is bad for you if it is used exclusively because it will begin to take calcium from your system, including your bones, but a couple of days a month keeps you safe from accumulated metals. Distilled water is good to cook with also. Distilled water is what is used by the soft drink industry and that is one reason the sodas are bad for you. There are many links on this. Do a Google search on benefits/detriments of distilled water.

Yes and no. I was born in the 50's and grew up on tap and fluoridated water.I'm still alive, no cysts, and just went to the dentist and I think it's pretty good that I've only had 2 cavities at my age. My mother attributed it to our fluoridated water, was not allowed to drink pop or kool aid (only on special occasions) had to drink water or milk if we were thirsty. The toothpaste we brushed our teeth with was whatever was on sale! I went to a rural high school and a lot of the kids that came in from the country had bad teeth. My daughter and sister has country water and both said it's not fit to drink, they have bottled water. My grandaughter is 7 yrs. old and has 3 cavities already (bottled water has no fluoride). With that being said, tap water hasn't hurt me any, I've thrived on it!I say drink bottled water with fluoride if not for your health but for your teeth.
