First off, be sure to eat plenty of meats and protein, such as eggs and the like. Second, reduce the ammount you run, use a treadmill, and swim, as this will burn fat and muscle mass, (it helps to tone up, but not to bulk up). Work with weights, as you say you are wanting to do, and be sure to concentrate on more weight, less repetitions. And eat alot more than you typically do, and sleep more as well. This should help!

My husband also has a fast metabolism and he was able to gain about 20 pounds by doing a full body work out twice a week, and keeping track of what he was eating and how much. He bought a couple bottles of weight gainer and he would add about 350 more calories to his diet every week until he got to the weight he wanted. Of course, some of that was fat, but that was the only way he was able to gain weight.

The healthy way to gain weight is through gaining muscle. I was just like you in high school. I could eat whole pizzas and never gain one pound. The only way I started to get larger\bulkier was when I started weight training in college. Then people were like Holy Crap what happened! I would say do a lot of research on weight training or even get a personal trainer to teach you the correct way of doing exercises and the best ones to meet your goals. Good Luck.

Hmm. My advice to you would be to try not to drastically change your diet. But do try to eat an equal number of what is on the food pyramid. Try to encorperate protien and grains and fruit and vegetables into every day meals.
I would also suggest that you gain muscle weight. This is fairly easy to do, but it takes time and patience, just like everything else with weight does.
And if you decide to start this, you have to finish it, there is nothing worse on your body than an unbalanced lifestyle.

Well I know that a way to LOSE weight is to eat a lot of calories, then not very many. Becuz our metabolism is automatic. If we eat a lot of calories, it trys to set itself to burn as many calories as you eat. So maybe if you eat a few hundred more calories everyday you will gain some weight!! Then your metabolism won't be able to keep up.
