since god existed for eternity before the universe came into existance - god could not have created the universe. if god always knew that he would create the universe at some point in the future - then that event would always be in the future. Like tomorrow - the moment of creation would never actually arrive.
if you counter this with the argument that god is outside of time - this also raises big problems- since without time - a change in state (ie no universe - to universe) would also be impossible
i realise christians dont have any objections to god doing the impossible- but there comes a point where the illogical and self contradictory nature of god - means he is easily dismissed

To the Questioner...
Prove that the bible is wrong.. Can you? Or can all you do is slam a christian on here?
I grew up with a parent that has 2 PhD's in the sciences and has written more papers then most in his field... so please don't throw you Physicist self around...
People in the sciences love to tout how much better they are then everyone else.... not all but A LOT! I have seen it for years.
You can't disprove the existence of God so you throw your education at people to try and intimidate them.
Who says that we are meant to know all of the answers to the questions you pose?
Does the science arena know all the answers? Can you tell me what the vaccine is to HIV? Can you tell me why trophoblastic cells mutate to cause DNA distortions in the fetus?
Don't call Christian's religious nuts. That shows how educatedly ignorant you really are. You feel threatened by something you don't understand and I know first hand how infuriating that makes most scientists.
Just because Christians don't have the answer to where God originated from and what he was doing before he created us doesn't mean that we don't know what we believe! That is so ignorant and makes my temper flair.
The question you should be asking if you are truly interested in learning.. would be Why do you believe in God?... and that will likely garner some interesting responses across the board.
And for the record.. you as a physicist, wanting to promote a theory, must write a paper with your evidence.... then that empirical data is then tossed around in the scientific community and researched through other labs and then debunked or sections proved and a lot of times... the data sits, no one believing and no one denying.. just unable to corroborate your evidence. You even said it yourself.. EXPERIMENTAL which doesnt mean 1-0-0 % proven.
So.. based on your own evidence... we shouldn't be giving your work any credence either!

Hmmm... the great unanswerable... hmmm... funny, 'cos one of the things I find most amazing about God is that He is beyond human understanding!
I believe God exists outside of space and time, that's how He created it and will 'uncreate' it. (If God exists outside of space/time then does the question make sense at all anyway?)
You've asked your question, let me ask you mine: Forgetting what God did for eternity before creating the universe, what will you do for eternity after the earth is ended? "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare" [2 Peter 3:10]
Read Revelation 20:11-15 - where the dead are judged before the throne of God and those who haven't accepted God are thrown into the lake of fire... the second death, that doesn't sound too nice! Jesus refers to those who don't follow Him as departing "into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" [Matthew 25:41]
Of course it's a personal choice and I can't make you believe in God. Though some people claim to have scientific proofs for God, I've never really checked them out, I believe because of what I've seen in my life.
If anything's unclear or you want to argue more then "contact" me...

Well, the god that we identify with did not create anything whatsoever. So there is no backside to sit up from and the rest of your points don't really matter also. Because by the time we or science figure everything out, we will be long gone and dead. These are the least of our worries. Live the moment is what there is -- really.
Take care.

No one else can prove God's existence to you... it's a purely personal thing between you and Him... it happens when you're ready... and some people never are in this lifetime... and some are at the end of it.
what and where was God before creating us... well as a believer who's had proof, I know where... and I know we all go back there to Him, when our time on earth is done... been there inside more than one NDE... and it's heavenly;-)

It sounds like you're more interested in being provocative than getting an answer.
Do you have an answer to why humanity always wants to leave its mark?
To why we all seem to want to know what happens when we die?
To how all of this happenstance could have come together?
None of these things are reproducible in the laboratory, either. Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions altogether. Or perhaps we are trying to make God into our own image so that we can supplant Him.

If what you want is marriage, end putting the cart formerly the pony so that you'll talk. Separate your debts and do not purchase a house yet. keep saving for a downpayment yet do not comply with any extra joint stuff till you're engaged. Or take him up on the JP grant and purely flow get married.

No one knows for certain, however when we die and stand before him we can find out. Here's an idea instead of asking humans this question on YA, why not just hang onto that thought and ask God? You will get the opportunity one day.
