Why would your dog be pregnant without you knowing about dog pregnancy? Only reputable breeders should be breeding dogs - otherwise you are simply contributing the the 2-5 million animals that are killed each year in shelters. Please, if your dog is so lucky as to not be pregnant, get her fixed ASAP. If you want puppies, buy some; don't contribute to poor genetics and breeding stock.

If she is pregnant and you plan on getting rid of even one of the puppies, please read up on the breed ethics as put forward by their national club as well as the AKC responsible breeder guidelines. Breeding is not taken on for fun, money, or to create pets, but rather to advance the breed and find the perfect specimen of a show dog.

If you don't have the time to read these links, then you shouldn't be breeding. If you don't want to hear about what a reputable breeder is, then you shouldn't be breeding. Most are a great read - please take the time to do so if you love your dog and the puppies that she will have, or even if you are a slightly moral person.

Well, most of the time, you'll see that she is fatter. Sometimes they'll go off food and/or not be as active.
