there is no VW plant there anymore. its sony now....

the rabbit came out in 1979 they stoped making it. it was the first VW car made in the US. now they brought it back.

its a great affortable small front wheel drive car. easy on gas too.

the golf, was different. had a simular shape, but its bigger.

VW, which started importing the original Beetle to America 50 years ago, built 1.2 million cars, including Rabbits and Golfs, at the plant in Pennsylvania from 1978 to 1988.

Although VW once considered a second U.S. plant, the Westmoreland factory closed amid slumping sales for the Golf. The plant employed nearly 2,000 workers.
