No you don't have to just go to the Microsoft website and download the latest version it will make the neccesary adjustments. Also it is free. You will love the new beta version.

I believe you can get WMP 11 without WMP 10.

Yeah u can get it. its free, but be sure your PC is up to it, its a lot heavier on resources.
