Somethings are too cruel to ever loose their ability to provoke painful feelings -- which includes anger and hurt. Harboring a grude and living with hate, however, aren't beneficial ways of coping. Forgiveness may not always be possible but understanding your feelings and accepting the past as the past are positive steps forward.

Holding a grudge is one of the most imprisoning things you can do to yourself. There is so much freedom in forgiveness and you can finally move on with your life if you do. What are you still grudging?

I still hold a grudge against my former best friend for sleeping with my boyfriend in high school. (that was 6 years ago) I still won't look at her without getting pissed off. I can't help it.

-It took me a long time to get over being made fun of in grade school because I was overweight. It started out where I was the tallest of my class and everyone would call me fat, but I wasnt. Then I got depressed because of the teasing, & then started to seclude myself and eat. I dont understand it but psychologicaly ifu get told that ur nothing daily, somehow u begin to believe it. So since then I've had a weight problem, I know I'm not worthless, like they said I know Im not ugly, Im just overweight, & Ive tried everything to loose it, but cant. Ive recovered emotionally, but physically the damage is done!
