I know that medical schools are looking for a diverse body of students, and my major will certainly let me stick out in this respect! I like accounting a lot, and if I am not accepted into medical school, I would like to go for my CPA license and start my own firm, and work with professionals in the medical field, or even go for an MBA. I am confident I that I can ace most if not all the courses, which I can not say about chemical engineering, or maybe even chemistry. I don't want to be a biology major because I am not interested in getting a Phd and this is what I need in order to do independent research. (The company you work for gets all of the credit for any discovery that you make. I am also not interested in becoming a teacher, and a bachelors or masters degree will only let you do so much research.) Ultimately I would like to be in an occupation where I can perform services, and either career will allow me to work directly with people and allow me to make their lives better. I would also consider becoming a pharmacy major, but because I have already spent two years in the accounting program, I think it would be better to stick with accounting. (Perhaps if I were to do things over, I would go for the pharmacy program.)

Earl D: My idol is Warren Buffett. I plan on living a frugal lifestyle and donating as much as I can to worthy causes. Just because I like accumulating money does not mean that I am materialistic. I envy those that are happy doing what they love- my father "went for the money" and hates every second of it. I intend to go for accounting/medicine because that is what I truely love. I have heard that disagreements about money is the leading cause of divorce in this country. People are earning more then they ever have in the past, and yet, many people are burdened by debt. The average American needs to learn how to balance their finances. Many people start their bad habits while in college, as the average student accumulates thousands in unneccessary credit card debt. By helping people financially, they can lead better lives. My friend has just spent $12,000 on a brand new car. He could have used that money to pay for college, put it into investments, or better yet, donate it.

Money itself is just a tool that we can use positively or negatively. If you don't believe me, look at Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. My donating so much money, they will be able to benefit so many people from disadvantaged backgrounds. I intend to do the same.

If I am good with my finances, then I will be able to spend more of my time helping people instead of worrying about making money. This will give me the chance to help out those that are less fortunate- and I will be able to perform services those that are less fortunate.

You want to bill people and turn them over for collecting for getting Heart By Pass Surgery.

I finally found something LOWER on the evolution scale than a Lawyer!

I'm not clear what your question is. Here's what I can tell you though.

Major means nothing! I have a classmate who went through 3 different careers (including truck driving) before deciding on medicine. Also, just because you may not ace a class (I repeated Organic chemistry) means nothing. Think of it this way: when was the last time you chose your doctor based on his score in Chem class, or score on the MCAT or even his board score. You may have chosen based on wether or not he is board certified, but that could mean barely pass or ace. (I highly doubt ace would even happen) The bottom line is that if you want to do medicine, go for it. And, if you do well in your business type classes, I'm sure you'd do fine in your science classes.
