***FIRST OF ALL***, puppy pads are the worst way to potty train a dog. your are basically training your dog to go inside only and that it is okay to go in the house. Pads are really for inside the crate this way if your puppy needs to go and you're not home, the pad absorbs for easy clean up. however, you really need to just take your puppy out every 1 to 2 hours until about 6 months. puppies are like babies, they eat/drink, sleep/play and poo/pee a lot. so best time to take her out is first thing in morning, about 10 to 15 minutes after drinking/eating, 10 to 15 minutes after playing/sleeping, mid afternoon, after being let out of crate, before you go to bed. dogs learn through repetition and pattern. soon enough the dogs will catch on to the fact that outside is bathroom, not inside. Also look for signals, like excessive sniffing of the floor usually means "i'm going to pee/poo soon, so you better take me outside before i squat right here.". also, put a bell within paw reach and ring it everytime you go out to take the dogs out and they'll learn to ring it when they have to potty. my big dog whines at the door when she has to go. it's really all just a matter of positive reinforcement. after the puppy starts to get older add 20 minutes before taking her out, per week or two so she learns that bathroom time is when you say it is. this will ween her to going only 3 to 4 times a day. ***SECONDLY***, dogs learn from each other and your dog is probably a little jealous of the puppy from all the training your doing for your dog and is looking for attention. try taking them out to potty together and training them together this way one doesn't feel under attended than the other. give it time, but you'll notice a differance in your dogs behavior and potty time will be a lot easier. good luck!

It does sound like he is marking. If he is not neutered i'd propose doing that first. I have eens circumstances that the owner waits too long to have their pet neutered and its may also be too late they proceed to mark. My 3 yr historic Boston does it if i'm not correct on him. He used to be adopted from a shelter and of path the prior owners were not responsible and did not have neutered or maintain him for that fact different intelligent he don't have been in there within the first situation...UGH do not get me started on that. Sorry ramboling. Anyway, i might endorse getting him neutered first, crate coaching him and peeing alot is whatever which you could control as good principally if he's still a puppy and a smaller breed canine, restrict amount of water that you just give him. DON"T reduce simply give smaller amounts extra mostly. I did it with my french bulldog intent she wanted to pee every 20 mins. As far as the wee wee pads if you happen to have got to start training on those i'd recommened inserting it someplace practically the door and at any time when he goes on there congratulate him and transfer it in the direction of the door until you adventually get it out the door. Position the wee wee pad external and deliver him too it everytime he goes outside i've noticeable this method work earlier than. All else falls the one more thing that you can do is use the doggy diapers if the marking does not stop being that he's nonetheless a dog and working on the things mentioned above you will have to be ok. Good success.

the female has just gone through training to use the pads. the male was probably fine up until the female started using the pads. once he thinks she is using the house a toilet, he falls in line. i had a 2yr old dog that was house broken and when she was a puppy used the pads wonderfuly. we got a new puppy and when she started using the pads, the 2 yr old started peeing everywhere inside....we ended up getting rid of the puppy and the 2yr old still goes in the house....it's a pain ~~~

The male may be marking his territory, especially with a female in the house. You can buy a belly band to put on him, but the best thing to do is crate him if you can't watch him.
If you mean housetraining pads, throw the stupid things away! They just teach them it is ok to potty in the house.
