I speak Russian, I learned it at school and I traveled a lot in Russia (and the ex-Soviet Union ) so I must be able to talk with everyone. I'll get the 10 points? LOL.

I took 5 days of a Russian class to start to get the feel of it, since my brother is leaving in a week to go to school in Russia. So, I do speak a little bit, just enough to get by really, though I plan on learning more so I can function better when I am over there to visit. It is just kind of hard to find good Russian classes around here. It is an interesting language though, that is for sure.

No, I don't. I've been studying from a book, on my own, but I know I need a teacher to learn the pronunciation. I'd love to learn Russian, because I'm Russian descendant. I hope I'll take classes some day.

I don't speak Russian but I wouldn't mind learning it. I don't speak it because I don't have much to do with Russia right now in my lifetime except reading their economic and social development in Foreign Affairs and what the United Nations puts out.

Russian is useful if you live in Russia, but if you live in any of the countries which Russia occupied illegally (Latvia, Romania, Montenegro) you really need to keep quiet that you even know a bit of the language.
The only public vandalism I ever saw in Vilnius was an Aeroflot poster that had been slashed.
Russian is one of the few languages which it can be a disadvantage to speak.

Yes, I speak Russian and it's my first language. The reason is because I was born in one of the former Soviet republics, Uzbekistan to be specific:)

When I was in school, Russian was not offered as a second language. Only French, Spanish or German. I chose Spanish.

I don't speak it, but I'd like to learn it, one day. I suppose it won't be hard to me since I'm from Serbia, so are languages have same origin-slavic (I think it's said like that). Russian is a beautiful language, btw.
Why I don't speak it now? I don't know. Why don't you speak my language? kidding :-)

Я немного говорить русский... but I sure as hell would like to learn! XD

The reason why I don't speak any more Russian is that I don't have time to take real lessons. I just try to learn by myself, little by little... hopefully someday I'll be able to adopt a different learning method, or even go to Russia. :)
