I know that for flexability your supposed to stretch after you workout, because the muscle will be loose and limber to stretch beyond its previous point. I was wondering if taking a hot tub, then stretching, would have the same effect as it would after working out. Because the hot tub relaxes your muscles and warms them up. Because I've noticed I can stretch alot easier afterwards

Sure that's a great idea, you can also do quite a few stretches in the hot tub. You have the right idea to stretch when the muscles are warm, good job!

It's not exactly the same effect. There are gels in your muscles that loosen primarily from movement or impact.Just do a light warm up or stretch after your work out.Part of the reason you can stretch alot easier is the rise in endorphens from the hot water as well.Same basic principle as relieving certain types of discomfort with a hot tub.

Stretching is good it prepares the body for the exercise and stretching after the workout relaxes the muscles.
