What exactly was Bin Ladin's intention aside of killing people? I have to think that he understands himself as part of a political and religious battle for the people of the Middle East to not be exploited and have their culture destroyed by the powerful West. The U.S. and other Western governments are often behind or supportive of repressive regimes in the Middle East that keep the people of the Middle East largely poor with a small upper class and with just as much of the wealth from the oil reserves being handed over to foreign business men. Hence, when Bin Laden struck, he struck at the heart of capitalism, with the understanding that the Western nations that control capitalism, particularly the U.S., do not have clean hands when it comes to violence and repression in the Middle East. In that sense, I assume he saw the killings as justified in retaliation for blood spilled to secure the way for Western capitalists to plunder and exploit the Middle East. But I do not understand what he hoped to accomplish unless it was to give the U.S. an excuse to invade Iraq, a country the Bush regime wanted to invade and was looking for an excuse to invade. In that sense, it almost seems like Bin Laden and the Bush regime conspired to give the U.S. an excuse to invade Iraq. But while I can understand why Bin Laden would have been glad to see Saddam Hussein removed from power, I do not understand why he would want American forces in Iraq to install a new puppet government, unless he thought if the U.S. could take out Saddam, he and other groups would have opportunity to defeat the mighty U.S. in military battle just like the Vietnamese did. Did he not know the U.S. was in Vietnam for 15 years? According to Islam prophecy, Holy Prophet Muhammad will have opportunity on Judgment Day to ask a special forgiveness for Muslims who have committed certain sins. If those certain sins are instances of violence in this centuries long political and religious battle between the Muslim Middle East and the Christian West, then maybe Bin Laden would be forgiven, especially given that the long-standing idea embedded in Islam that Allah approves of violence against political and religious enemies traces back to Muhammad himself. However, if Bin Laden did make a deal with the Bush regime for the 9/11 attacks to occur, then that is another sin to make such a ghastly agreement with someone who is clearly working for the devil. Allah will decide and I will accept whatever that decision is without complaint. I cannot think of any reason Bush will be forgiven, there is no prophecy in Christianity of a special forgiveness but instead of many calling themselves Christian being turned away from heaven by Jesus who clearly instructed against violence even as others are violent toward you, but I would accept that too if that is what God decides.
