We have a water pipe at home, and as apposed to regular cigarettes, the smell is actually pleasant. I don't know if this tobacco is more or less damaging than regular tobacco in cigarettes?

Well, its give-and-take here. The tobacco itself is probably less damaging (less additives than manufactured cigarettes), or at least equally as damaging. As far as smoking it through water- yes, it filters out a lot of junk, but tar and carcinogens will still get through. Couple that with the fact that you actually breathe the smoke in deeper with a water pipe, you're pretty much just as bad off. If you truly enjoy it, more power to you, but you're not doing yourself any favors, no matter how you smoke it.

I can't imagine that smoking is healthy, whatever form it takes.
