Why waste your time hating One you claim you dont believe in? You don't see me bashing Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny. You don't believe in Him, fine, so take the nonbeliever's route and hide behind your lack of views, but don't whine about not knowing God when His invisible attributes are clearly seen. Reap what you sew, peace beyond understadning, miracle healings...clearly theres something bigger then you.

Excellent question!

Indeed, this is strange... Some people claim they are atheists, but they need to convince others about the non-existence of "God".

Sometimes, I don't really see the difference between those who believe in its existence and those who believe in its non-existence.

Both sides focus on "god", isn't it?

I suppose that a true atheist doesn't even refer to the word "god", otherwise, it seems a bit intrinsicly incoherent...

Unless they are anti-theistic agnostics, eventually.

In my view, that label "atheist" seems overused, incomplete. They believe in the non-existence-of God... Still too close to those who believe in God...

How can they believe in the non-existence of something that doesn't exist?!?

- lol -

Well, I am me, and that's all what matters.

Oh no!!! Not another ignorant god thumper who bleats like a goat. Some Atheists do hate god but most of them don't care. Where do you people come up with this garbage? There are no invisible attributes, no miracle healings, no nothing. People like you talk about god and love and all that and yet you judge and hate anyone who doesn't believe like you.

They don't hate something they don't even believe exists! That's like saying "why do you hate Santa Claus?".

I don't hate anything unreal - I hate the extremes of hatred that religions cause. I have never seen an instance where a religious person was killed by atheists - but plenty around the world where religion is the cause of murder.

THAT is hate in the name of belief. I'm willing to let people live as they please as long as they are not harming or advocating harm. But there are huge numbers of religious people who want to intrude into my life in the form of laws they want enacted, rights they want to have their religion made part of the government.

That is what religion has given me all these years - intolerance and intrusion when unasked. I prefer to live in peace without having to have someone else's beliefs forced on me and my children through public display. But if there is any anti-religion display, it brings on outrage and protests... did people forget that if you demand a right for yourself you cannot deny it to others in the US?

Yeah. that is a real oxymoron. How can somebody hate what they do no longer have confidence exists first of all! As a minister I even have countless associates who declare to be atheists. We comprehend one yet another academically and in my view we purely conform to disagree on some issues.

True atheists don't "hate" god. As you so aptly put, they don't believe in "his/her" existence so there is nothing to hate. What they actually hate is all the bible thumpers who run around trying to cram religion down their throats..telling them they're going to hell for not believeing, that there is something "bigger than you" out there, and hiding behind the concept of religion and using it as their only defense in any given situation.

If all those who DO believe in religion wouldnt continue to put down those of us who do NOT believe in religion, there would be much more peace in the universe.

I don't hate God, because I don't believe in him. I dislike people trying to oppress their religion on me. That's the problem I have.

I also have problems with people like Michelle D 2 people down. I don't feel like I should be cursed at for having a different belief than her.

I don't agree that there is a god nor disagree I just don't like when people try to support their views as facts and tell other people they will be sent to everlasting suffering if they don't have the same views as them. I call that religous fascism and I hate it.

You can't hate something that doesn't exist!

What I hate is the way religion dulls peoples' minds and the way some religious people feel they need to pity me, help me or force me to believe the same as they do.

I don't hate that in which I do not believe. I don't hate that which does not exist.

Regarding your desire for atheists to "leave believers alone with their belief"........

Well........

Pot, kettle, black.

Christians and religious fundamentalists can't seem to keep their prefered brand of spirituality to themselves. In fact, our secular government has been, for lack of better words, under attack for some time now. If Christians aren't going to keep to themselves in the personal or broader sense, why in the blue **** should atheists?
