All she needs is water and she'll drink it eventually. She's proabbly nervous about her new home. Don't worry.

First off, how old is the kitten. If it's younger than six weeks it needs to go back to the mother till it's weaned. Do *not* give kittens milk - it's too rich and they cannot digest it. A kitten can get diarrhea from milk very easily, and that will kill them very fast. Cats should not be given milk. Only offer water to cats.

It is too weak to drink? How long has it gone without drinking?

I have to say, honey, if you know so little about cats and kittens that you don't know what to feed it, you either shouldn't have it or you should find a site on the internet about raising kittens fast and learn all you can. If you can't get liquid down the kitten, call the vet and they can do emergency feeding. In fact, call the vet anyway and have them look her over, because I'm betting you haven't done that.

As long as she is fully weaned and old enough to be away from mum (about 8 weeks preferably) she will drink when she's ready. You don't mention how long you've had her. If more than 3 days then it may be a good idea to get her to a vet to ensure there is not a medical problem stopping her from drinking. Just make sure you provide plenty of fresh water and she should be okay. Never give a cat milk. They are unable to process he lactose in cow milk properly and she Will end up with a bad case of the runs. Not a nice prospect with a house bound little one ~;-} Hope all goes well with you and your new friend.

-First it is a myth that cats drink milk, that we humans drink. The only time they would drink milk is if its from theyre mother. Milk gives all cats diahrea, they dont digest it, so it will only make ur kitten more sick. Try going to the 99Cent store and purchasing a baby bottle, fill it with room temperature water, not ice cold!!! Try again with the baby bottle 2 feed the cat, if that doesnt work take it to the vet, not drinking could be a sign of something more serious!! Good Luck, I got a kitten this time last year, hes adorable.

Kittens once weaned should only drink water. And they will only drink when they want to. Most kittens are lactose intolerant to cows milk and it will give them diarrhea. Once they are weaned they don't need milk any more. If your kitten is younger than 4 to 6 weeks then it still needs to be nursing off mom.

You can get milk for kittens in the pet food area of larger stores like Wal Mart.. also small "baby" bottles to feed them with. If you have only had her a day, she may be upset and 'cranky' at the new surroundings... put her in a room that is fairly dark with some water and/or kitten milk and allow her to be alone for 2-3 hours.

Take the milk away, it will only make her sick. She will drink the water eventually, she is probably just nervous, give her some time alone to adapt to the new home. Best wishes

If the kitten is new, she probably just needs to get use to you. You might try getting her paw or the end of her tail wet and see if she will lick the water off. Don't give her anything to drink except water. If you are holding her and she is content, try taking your finger and putting a little drop of room temp water on her nose, she might lick it off that way.

kittens do not drink anything else but mother's milk and water. Do not try to feed her cow's milk, it can cause diarrhea. If she is not drinking I would take her to the vet. She can become dehydrated and very sick.

Hi there. Please take her to the Vet right away. She may be too you, or very, very ill. Don't worry about the money. Wrap her up in a towl so she can't jump out, but make sure she can breath. Walk into the vet's office with your kitten in the towel and go right up to the desk. Tell them that you have an EMERGENCY. Please do this, I don't want your kitten to die. Cat
