The Virgin Mary is especially important to Catholics in Latin America (not sure why more then other Catholics) - they adore her. I think its more of a case that Latinos are more likely to Notice the image of the Virgin Mary, and even more likely that a Latin would report it. Other people have found the Virgin Mary's image, but most of them never bother telling anyone (especially the media.)

In my experience, the Virgin Mary is very central to the personal piety of Latinos. It just stands to reason that when something is that prominent in your mind, you'll be more likely to see it somewhere else than other people.

i really didn't find it to be virgin mary but after looking at it closely i found that it did look like the virgin mary and the latinos, i think have a strong faith

It's not just Latinos. But it is mainly Catholics who see Mary in potatoes and such, and many (most?) Latinos are Catholic.
Catholics worship and pray to Mary as they do God, which is not supported by the Bible.

Because latinos are more historically poor. They come from poorer countries where there wasnt as much good education in science and logic and so religion is in thier traditions id like to say that i am hispanic and this isnt meant to be offensive but it is true.

Because we love She and we accept She to be our Saint Mother which Jesus Christ Gives to us on The Cross:'Son,here is you Mother" and Saint Mary our Mother gives to us many gifts.Saint Mary is so attentive

It might have to do something with their level of faith in her. Americans are so jaded and skeptical; no wonder she doesn't want to appear to us. She wants to appear to those who will accept and spread her message.
